Taric is the definition of an Ultimate Bot...

Honestly, the whole champion is his Ultimate and 3 other Abilities that are medicore at best...

His Stun is one of the most overpriced spells in this game, even at max stacks the mana/heal ratio is HORRIBLE... I mean holy hell, Alistars PASSIVE is a better heal than Tarics Heal at max stacks...

His Shield is super meh, since it shields based on the TARGETS max HP... Hey ADC, want a... 150 HP Shield? Oh yeah, it gives Armor, thats awesome right? Oh right, Armor is worthless in the meta as it is... So basically, your W is just a "My stun fires twice" ability...

And talking about his stun... Honestly, I dont recall the last time I was hit by one of them in lane. the hitbox is so pathetic, I could most likely walk out of it while being slowed by a Zilean...

The only reason he sees any play is because his Ultimate is broken AF. He is literally a One Trick Pony as hell.

Taric is in the Top 10 Winrate Support Champions, but also the Top 10 LEAST PLAYED Support Champions, because hes super boring to play.

Remember how old Taric was called a Stunbot? They made it WORSE with the rework. At least the Stun back then has a lower Cooldown than his Ultimate now, so you could do stuff more often. And his other Abilities weren SHlT back then. His Heal actually did something, he had AoE dmg spells, shredded Armor, buffed your team with bonus AD...

How could they fuck up Taric like that in the first place? Just replace his stupid Ultimate with the old one and make his other abilities good, maybe then he will be fun to play again.

Shen is 100x more of an ult-bot than Taric is.

Taric's stun isn't easy to avoid at all, because of it's deceptive hitbox (it hits a little wider and longer than it looks), not to mention it's a decently sized AoE.

His passive is pretty powerful.

The armor basically counters Lethality.

I don't think he needs it, perhaps a mana cost buff tho, it's basically just a way for him to proc his passive. And don't underestimate AoE heals + windspeakers.

Even with Windspeaker it has a shitty mana to heal ratio with an unreasonable high Cooldown.

Yes, you CAN reduce it with your passive, but it still doesnt change the fact that this heal basically has a 45s Cooldown.

It's not about the heal it's about proccing your passive for damage.

I go on about the Taric ult being really unsatisfying and hogging power budget as well as his need for a lot of tweaks, but you're sort of going overkill. Taric + Another CC tank = Inescapable lockdown and 500 health shields every few seconds for both of them. An Ascension game I had a month ago where I tag teamed with a random Leona was probably the best LOL experience I've had this year.

That and he's a support duelist that can pummel the ever lasting crap out of squishies if he gets the drop on them.

taric is one of the worst reworks we've gotten

Taric retained every part of his kit when he was reworked. His passive is nearly the same, just with 2 second reduction becoming 2 consecutive attacks with doubled attack speed giving 1 second reduction.

His Q is still a heal that targets both himself and an ally.

His W still gives defenses to an ally. I admit that this one is pretty different, but it is still similar in that it provides armor to himself and a teammate.

His E is still a stun that is more effective the closer you are.

His ult is still an AOE team fight boost for his team, just with a different affect.

Other champions who have been reworked aren't even close to being the same champion. Sion and Galio are the 2 biggest ones that come to mind for me. Sion used to be an AP one shot machine like Veigar but was turned into a tank that retained a single ability from his old kit. Galio used to have the best self sustain in the game by far and was reduced to having the absolute worst sustain. The only thing Galio retained was his aoe taunt. He didn't even keep his personality or appearance.

Yeah...I wish they had made him into a juggernaut. I miss old taric tho.

If you can't land Taric's stun you aren't very good with Taric and need more practice. The only time that I ever miss his stun is either when I am just barely out of range or when the enemy uses their mobility ability or flash. If they have to use their mobility to get out of it than it did its job and now your jungler can have an easy gank. There is also this thing called an E flash combo that gets my team a kill probably 90% of the time that I do it.

I find Taric to be the most fun and interactive support to date. If you use Taric's passive correctly, he can spam his abilities non stop until he is out of mana. Other tanks use their abilities and then they are just a meat shield. Poke supports are also boring to me because I like to get into the enemy's face without dying. Sitting back poking isn't fun at all. Don't get me started on Janna and Soraka. I think they are the most boring champions in the game to play. You can't even kill wolves without help so you are just someone's butt buddy all game.

You say if you cant hit Tarics Stun you are bad, I say when you get hit by it you are bad.

DrCyanide2 votes

Pros get hit by Taric Stuns, guess it means everyone is bad.

Raoul1 votes

Yeah, once in a blue moon you have a lucky Strike or you manage to sneak a stun in when a teamfight is going and everyone is distracted, or you can chain it to another stun, every skillshot will hit anything eventually.

But if you get hit by more than 1/3 of Tarics Stuns, you are just plain bad.

DrCyanide1 votes

If you're getting hit by more than 1/3 of any skill shot you're just bad. Skill shots should be dodged more often than not if both parties are equally skilled.

Not in team fights, not chain CCed, 2 stuns in under 20 seconds landing.

While it's the easiest to find example, it's far from the only one. A skilled Taric will land his stuns.

AlienPrimate3 votes

If Taric and his target both have the same movement speed and Taric is good at tracking movements please tell me how you can dodge the stun without using an ability or flash. If you try to run to the side Taric will just follow. If you try to outrun it Taric will just follow. Another thing is that Taric doesn't always have to land his stun for it to do its job. You can zone with it too forcing people to either chose to stay going the direction they are going or risk being stunned. You can zone the ADC off of cannon minions and make them chose between missing that ~50 gold or eating the stun.

I will say this again. The only way to dodge the stun from a good Taric player is to use a mobility ability which puts it on cooldown and makes you vulnerable.

Even if we say his stun is an OK ability ( and a 1-1.5s delayed stun on a 15s CD is OK at best), that still leaves him with one OP Ultimate, one OK Stun and 3 medicore abilities.

AlienPrimate1 votes

When using his passive correctly, Taric's stun cooldown is a little over 4 seconds. A 1.5 second stun on a 4.5 second cooldown is powerful. This is also with or without CDR. The cooldown is the same whether you have CDR or not when using your passive.
