@RIOT What is your stance on people who AFK in the loading screen and miss the beginning of the game

it happens literally all the time. The game loads, and one team or the other doesn't have all 5 people there. Someone is tabbed out, or using the restroom or getting snacks, but the game has TECHNICALLY started and if one team decides to invade, there's going to be a notable disparity in numbers. Sure you CAN cede all that pressure, but if you're the jungle in that situation, it feels TERRIBLE and you might get camped early because of it. It feels worse if your team had a comp that could have gotten the kill off of it too.

Obviously it's not as malicious as rage AFKing, but it can still put a whole match off to a terrible start in both attitude and actual game momentum, but I don't see it ever talked about as punishable behavior. I think Riot could go a long way to fixing this by actually having load screens have interactive chat so that people had a REASON not to tab out, but regardless, it feels awful when this happens to you, and feels cheap when it happens to the other team.

the thing is they are gonna be adding team chat to loading screen soon (TM). But that still wot stop people from going to the bathroom/watching utube/eating/doing watever the heck they think they can feasibly do in 20-65 seconds. Theres also the other side where people just have old/low end/bad rigs. They may be loaded in on ur screen but they may still be seeing the loading screen/lag a little bit before then can actually move. And its dang near impossible to discern the two (kinda like trying to tell the difference between a legit power outage afk, or a silent rage afk).

So imo, im stumped. I think this is annoying yes, but there are two many factors (human nature, computer specs etc) that play in to actually make this a priority. Just my 87 cents tho.

It still just feels like a problem that SOMETHING should be done about because it's not fun to have your level 1 ruined because of this
