And a Plat 2 on the other ? Riot , this should NEVER be allowed. The game was a total wast of time , but the worst part is that is was winnable , so it was even suckier. Please fix this Riot

Well obviously, but when they're not even level 30, they don't have runes/masteries/skill. It's incredibly unfair to pit them against well-established players.

happens to me all the time though? I'm only level 25 but most games they have the borders showing them as gold/plat last season and i rarely get someone else in their 20s, always max level and stuff.

Oh. I always thought it was all on MMR becuase i could play a normal and be against silver/gold players even though im bronze. Tyler1, when he was ranking up his smurf, he was level 25 and he was going against plat players and had a silver in his team, im thinking that because his win ratio is good in normals, he ends up against higher elo players

There is a sort of normals MMR, but it climbs slowly, and you're likely to play with players of the same skill/level/rank consistently.

skill? most of the pre lvl 30 are smurfs you know? Saying they don't have skill is like saying nobody has skill in this game

and the ones wich arent smurfs?? how the hell they suppose to play against plat or even diamonds?? keep getting killed over and over again its not fun ,you know.Thats why my little brother dont play this game anymore.Cause he always was matched vs golds,plat or even diamonds while he was only lvl 25.Like wtf is this!? Thats why this game not growing anymore ,cause the experience for the new players is just awful.

The matchmaking has been terrible since I first played this like 2 years ago. At level 20 getting golds/platinum in your games is a joke and completely ruins the experience, barely anything is learned, whoever has the more smurfs or ranked teammates in low levels get carried and has no idea how they won. Probably why there aren't that many new players in this game now

This argument doesn't matter I don't know why everyone is repeating it. If rank didn't matter then they wouldn't be easily carrying and ruining the games they are in. A ranked gold+ should never be in games with someone level 20 or below, but it happens very frequently.

Plat 2 player probably doesn't have a large number of normals played or they were played before he started playing rank and his skill improved, putting his normal MMR very low. This means that after a very short period of matchmaking the game will still match you against him.

Normal MMR is not the same as Ranked MMR.

Yeh, I queue up with a level 16 friend sometimes and they try to balance mmr out by giving them multiple level 30's and me Sub 20 players.

Nah, the level 17 was a friend of someone who I was premade with. They said that was their main account and the highest rating a person had in our group was like silver 1

That would be normals, where lots of people have a normals MMR unrepresentative of their ranked skill, and furthermore theres a pretty good chance the level 25 was a smurf of some sort.

I've had very strange matches like that lately. Had pre-30s on both teams AND Plats/Diamonds on both teams as well.

I feel for the level 25 he is facing somebody 50x better than him and it is harder for him to level up this should not be happening this really needs to get fixed or else people level 30 will flame low levels for being bad or they lost because of him.

Yeah I felt so bad because (Im unranked btw) im helping my friend level up because being alone in this game is terrifying. Everyone was under level 30 or unranked (and boy was literally everyone toxic in that mmr, across every game i'd have to report at least 4 people.) Anyway, I was actually losing pretty hard. I like to do off meta stuff when I help my friend level up so it's still fun for me and the other team doesn't get stomped by someone who actually knows how to play the game well, since they're new too.

We had a plat 5 on the enemy team though. That just wasn't right at all.

heres a few possible reasons

They're a smurf and have been winning most of their games up to that point, thrusting them into a 30 game
You either suck dick or don't play normals, leading to low MMR
the plat or the pre 30 was in que for hours and the que finally threw them in a game
There are no pre 30s online atm

I just recently hit lvl 30 and started ranked games. When I was doing normals, I was being paired almost exclusively with and against Plat+ players, even when playing at peak hours. Their matchmaking is absolutely fucked up.

Normals doesnt take into account ranked ELO, and if you get tagged by the smurf detection you play with other level 30s.

Normals have their own MMR and he had to be playing well and winning a decent amount to get there or you guys all have terrible normal winrates. I've made so many accounts and I've been pitted against Master players because of extremely high winrates. The guy was probably leveling up a new account.

Normal MMR should look at your Ranked MMR inbetween seasons and have a conversation like: Normal MMR: Hey Ranked MMR, you look stronger than me.. Ranked MMR: Yeah I've gotten a bit better. Normal MMR Steals part of your Ranked MMR and adds it to his own Ranked MMR: :O

This is why I'm forced to make smurf accounts, when my account reaches above level 20 the match making is really f* * *ed. When I'm level 20-30 the average skill range between people in the game is ridiculous. You can have level 10-20 people who are obviously very new by watching their positioning and everything else, and you can have gold players stomping everyone in the same game. At least when I'm below level 20 it only seems to be smurfs that mess it up, but once I hit 20 I get matched against and with tons of ranked gold+ who easily carry the game and pretty much ruin the experience for everyone else. You can pretty much tell who the ranked or smurfs are cause they will have 100+ more cs than everyone else and carrying the game alone. I'd rather have longer queue times than have these ridiculous matchups

I don't play ranked, it's way different when a gold ranked player + is in these games, they outmatch me pretty easily, and they simply obliterate the new players. Even without smurfs I see gold players in matches with level 10-20 new players

The main reason I have to make smurf is as soon as i hit level 20-30 I get matched against tons of ranked gold or higher players who are way better than me. The match making may appear fine for people who are playing ranked a lot, cause you won't noticed as much when you get that brand new level 30 in your game doing terribly, but it's more obvious in my games when players are level 10-20 and a gold suddenly appears and wrecks everyone.
