How Would You Rework Corki's E, Riot?

My friend and I have been discussing the eventual Corki rework (for example: we have no fucking clue how you're going to redesign him--Yordle or weird gnome/dwarf? Who knows), and we can't begin to wrap our heads around how Gatling Gun would change. It's not very fun right now and doesn't really promote the ADC playstyle of kiting.

Just what could be done with this very interesting (at least theme wise) ability without simply dropping it?
