An idea for giving Rengar counterplay while maintaining his assassin identity.
So we all know the main problem with Rengar right now is the removal of easily accessible pink wards, combined with his damage, allowing him to instagib anyone from stealth, often less than half a second after they see the ! warning. This is because he can build ghostblade and mobi/swiftness boots, which combined with the ult movespeed bonus towards enemies making him move and hit like a freight train, then get out easily with the movespeed afterwards. However, making him unable to burst a target would make him a fighter as opposed to an assassin
This is my proposed fix:
[R] Thrill of the Hunt: ACTIVE: Rengar activates his predatory instincts, gaining stealth after 1 second of not taking damage or 3 seconds, and True Sight icon true sight of all nearby enemy champions for 7 / 12 seconds or until Rengar damages an enemy with one of his abilities or basic attacks. VISION RADIUS: 2000 / 3000 / 4000 While stealthed, Rengar gains 15% / 30% bonus movement speed while moving toward a nearby enemy champion. Enemies are made aware of Rengar's presence if he is nearby.
Upon exiting stealth, Rengar gains bonus movement speed and generates 5 Ferocity over the next 5 seconds. applies Hunter's Prey to the target he most recently leapt at. Hunter's Prey lasts 5 seconds and grants Rengar bonus movement speed and 2/3/4 ferocity.
Radius for exclamation point warning: Set Radius Rengar's autoattack jump range + 1.5x Rengar's movement speed.
This change helps add counterplay for the cat in two ways:
First, Rengar now has to get a successful kill to get the bonus movespeed and ferocity after his ultimate. This means he can no longer: 1. Catch up to you with full ferocity even if he doesn't get in jump range during his ult. 2. Run away at 15x the speed of light regardless of whether he gets a kill or not, making it harder for him to jump in 1v3 and escape.
Second, Rengar's alert radius now almost always guarantees at least 1.5 seconds between the warning appearing and Rengar getting in range to jump. This keeps Rengar from simply building some movespeed and basically making the warning irrelevant.
Thoughts/suggestions/ideas?
also if you complain that he can one shot people he cant really do that until he has 3 items which is kinda alot i dont see anyone complaining about talon leblanc katarina and akali which can do the exact samething he can do except better and to the entire enemy team
