I've long been a fan of champions that are usually relegated to the support role, but seem to be able to be potent in solo lanes. Any Blitzcrank mains out there that want to chime in? How's this guy do in the top/mid lane?

I feal the threat of being pulled under turit or getting bursted down after you hit 6 was a good deturent for enimy to give me room to farm.

LadyRenly1 votesI've done AP Blitz mid before, it was pretty fun. Typically I see people play him as AD blitz, using stuff like Iceborn or whatever. Maybe it's better, but I don't have much experience with it.
Rod of Ages and Abyssal Scepter provide decent burst, it's pretty funny grabbing a Lux and knocking her up while she in unable to resist because of OP silence

I personally think AD Blitz might be slightly better, since when he's a bruiser, you get tons of Sheen procs. It's not only that, but a lot of bruiser items do give him extra durability since they also give him mana for his passive. I'm not sure which would be better. Every time I think about it, I'm like full mpen build vs tank build.
So far, I was thinking of a bruiser build like this:
hpen marks, flat armor seals, scaling mr glyphs, as quints
manamune, gauntlet, righteous glory, titanic hydra, dead man's, swiftness boots
Wouldn't Swiftness Boots reduce his own self slow, and wouldn't Stormraider's Surge do the same thing?

Ruin Lance1 votesi'm not a blitz main but i have lots of experience with him, roughly 24k mastery with him. as it stands blitzcrank is actually GREAT as a fighter/AD.
i have nearly a 90% win rate with him in the jungle, and my normal build path is

. once he completes warrior/trinity force he just shreds people. you're able to drop 500+ on people if you get a sheen proc + E, and even more if you crit with it.
late game, you are able to 1-2 shot carries and with your ult they won't be able to flash or dash away from you because of the silence. i suggest trying it, the only thing holding him back in the jungle is that before his warhammer or warrior enchantment he is susceptible to counterjungling because of his high mana costs and bad clear times. of course, you can also build him as a tanky AD fighter, but this is just how i like to build him.
so, why am i talking about this instead of what you asked? it's because he can't do well against the meta champions in those lanes. he just doesn't have enough trading power, and doesn't really have the ability to fight back until he finishes an item. in mid lane, the only thing he can do is try to hook people into tower. in top lane, same deal, but the lane is so big that it probably won't happen. on top of all this, he has NO waveclear, NO sustain, and only has a small AS steroid and an auto reset to fight back, both with pretty high cooldowns. so if you plan on playing him in mid or top just know that you won't be able to do anything unless you get a gank from your jungler or are able to farm up without dying so you can get items.
tl;dr if you want to take blitz outside of support, go jungle.
khorney1 votesthe thing with blitz is that he is strong no matter how you build him, ap ad either way he works. his knock up is basically a free crit his scaling on his q and ult are great not to mention they have no cd
