Why is Vlad becoming so popular and obnoxious all of a sudden?

Seeing him almost every game, he's wrecking shit, and he's 2v1ing like it's nothing... why now?

a lot of junglers usually farm more than gank early on, and the lack of jungle pressure + a lot of Vlad's counters not being prevalent at the moment give him pretty free reign to farm and scale

riven can make him pretty miserable though

early game riven will make his life hell if she's aggressive

his pool is on too high of a cooldown and he has no other disengage to stop her from trampling him

Hardest counter if you use the gneric 21/9 or 9/21 set ups. If you use to 11/0/19 set up with move speed quints, Riven is such a joke to vlad it really isn't even funny.

I was wondering the same. I started using Vlad again after a long time forgetting I had the champ. All of the sudden I start seeing him around alot more. I really thought I started it XD

To be honest I started using him again just for the hell of it, no particular reason. I get in ruts with champs for a while, then move on to something else for a while

And the best counters to a Vlad seem to be tankier champs who ignore his burst.
