Thoughts on casuals in ranked
It feels like this season has such a high percentage of casuals players playing ranked. With bad players and verbally toxic players, at least they try to win or with instant afks you will have the mindset of a 4v5. With casuals you can't tell what they want, one moment you team they're going even against their laner then the next they say "I don't want to play anymore" and leave. It gets worse when they're pre-made and just fooling around when you're trying to win and they tell you "we don't care about this game, we can just win the next because we're premade". Even at the higher elo there's a large number of casual players ruining the ranked experience causing serious ranked players to quit on their main and just troll around on their smurfs in lower elo causing a positive feedback cycle on this ridiculous mentality.
I remember back in season s2/3 where the only real problem in ranked were people trolling over pick order and that was it. I was low bronze back then, but I enjoyed ranked because they was a competitive atmosphere. Winning doesn't feel good anymore because most game you're not outplaying the opponent, it's just they have more casuals on their team who doesn't care about taking objectives or grouping.
Riot is making a terrible decision catering this game to casuals because while in the short term it may bring in more money from the huge population of casuals, casuals are what they are, once they get bored of something they leave in masses which is bad long term sustainability. No, I don't want the casuals to quit this game, I just want them to stick to normals/aram/TT where they belong, not in ranked where you're supposed take the game seriously.
