I'd love it if supports could move to toplane.

Hear me out for a second. I understand that supports have belonged to ADC's and bot lane for awhile and top lane has been renown for being an island. They don't need our help.

But have you ever played top with a support?

I just had a Zyra + Darius top lane game that just worked so beautifully together.

I could root them and he could pull them in, or vice versa.

Fuck ADC's, they aren't as cool as the beefy guys and gals in top.

I wish playing top support was more 'meta'.

Hopefully with the bot lane changes, it will be.

Then you give a free drake. Bring the bruiser bot instead. There's a reason the duo lane is bot, it's to protect drake.

I always ask the enemy support to rotate top with me whenever my adc is a whiny bitch.

I've played Tahm Kench top. After a while, the enemy will never stand near you, even if it means losing cs.

They know to fear me. :D

I've requested this a few times actually but in the end I usually get flamed and told to kill myself.

I'll ask if we have a Nasus top or a Darius Top because no matter what they CAN NOT be ignored. I feel safe, and then I can help my laner out because I feel safe enough to do that.

I actually agree. Top lane supporting should be an option. Support should be free to support who needs it , the same way jungler is free to pressure the map where it's needed.

To be honest, It can work beautifully because the current meta allows it. Supports do not need to be bot lane anymore. they can camp mid, they can camp bot, they can camp top. Hell you can have a support literally go up and down the fucking river and secure kills left and right during this meta. High risk though, but it does come with it's oh so smothering beauty of rewards.

But in all seriousness since:

Bot lanes have bruiser/mage comps

Mid laners now are smiters that control scuttle crabs(usually ADCs lately)

Junglers are now the assassins instead of tanks, since tanks have died out unless you go the toxic Funneling strat

Top lane should be supports that farm up and support once laning phase is over or to rotate bot lane after a turret bot lane is taken/destroyed

why not just delete marksmen from the game? why not just have all 5 people mid? why not just not have a jungler and instead have 2 in top and bot? oh right, because those strategies don't end up working in the long run, and the meta evolved from S1/S2 the way it did because they were the most optimal playstyles! stop trolling your teams and just play your role correctly!

The Romans had an ancient parable about the Hands and the Stomach. One day while the Hands were busy doing the hard work of the body, they got in a dispute with the Stomach. "What is wrong with us?" The Stomach was quiet for a long time before it croaked out an answer. "Feed me." Desperate to survive the Hands fed the Stomach and immediately felt energized. Before long the Hands resumed feeding the Stomach and all was well. Your post reminded me of this story.

The simple fact is that ADCs need the extra help. Toplane doesn't. Without a support in lane, a marksman will feed the enemy adc. A fed adc will murder your fed toplaner and then proceed to unleash some family friendly genocide all over your team. Marksman kits have been designed to give less sustain because they have a support with them. Bruiser and tank kits have been designed to solo lane, which changes how durable they are. Remove the support from an adc and what you are left with is cannon fodder. Moving the bruiser botlane isn't a bad idea, but adcs normally can't solo without getting stomped on. Plus supports offer strategical help in securing dragon early on. Rift Herald normally can't be a two person endeavor unless one is super fed, meaning the support won't help much. Plus since the other team will go support botlane like normal sane people (relatively), their jungler will just start ganking constantly top and yours will have to go bot. In addition, until a significant number of players start duo-topping, then it will be ineffective because you are helping toplane kill one person, while in bot you are helping the adc kill two.

I do that all the time. You just have to wade through the bitchy entitled cucks of "ADC's" Why would I support something that dies in .00000001 seconds and deals no damage unless they have 6 items? Waste of my fucking time
