Super long queues?

I'm newer to the game, level 14 so far. Usually my queues aren't too long, but the last few days I've been waiting for over half an hour (one time I waited for 48 minutes and nothing happened), and I usually just give up and go play something else. Is that normal?

I tried normal draft. I queued as bot and jungle, but switched to fill after a while since I figured it'd give a faster queue. When that went on for 45 minutes, I switched to blind pick and waited another 20. Just closed League at that point
