I know it's queue. But who the hell types that. Que, while also meaning something entirely different, is also a well known common shortening of it.
Every single person I know personally and a supermajority of the ones I met and interacted with does not use 'que' when they mean 'queue'. Ever.
Because they mean something completely different, and thus the meaning of their statement becomes obfuscated and they don't do that to their sentences--let them be unclear, that is.
Assuming I'm using filthy casual seriously. Oh man.
I have no way to know if you mean it seriously or not.
Since you used it, I must assume that you actually mean it.
^ but that's totally mature. And you wonder why I started using lol in this convo eh?
I never said I was being mature. Where did I say that? d:
I used the word mature in jest--I thought it'd be obvious, but I should have italicized the sarcasm.
Oh boy. AD Ez and Blue Build Ez build the same boots.
You said "any". Not my fault you didn't mean the word you used. :/
You said Boots of Lucidity was a Blue Build component which implies exclusivity.
That's false. It does not imply exclusivity.
Therefore it is not a Blue Build component but a general Ezreal item as even AP uses them as well.
Except it totally is, because that's the definition of component.
Your assumption earlier : Factually wrong.
I don't know what you're replying to here so I'm not sure which of my already-made arguments I need to paraphrase.
Then you E back and Q. This is all very new and recently added stuff, I can understand the confusion.
... *sigh* If Q's on CD, then what do you do?
Let's say you missed it. Enemy died before Q hit them. No enemy Champions near.
...I suppose that in that situation it doesn't matter. Never mind...
Well then your original statement is false as by what you say here you are apparently not using abilities more often than AD Ezreal.
Actually, it isn't. *sigh*
I'm more inclined to use my abilities because I'm me, and more able to use my abilities because I have mana because of my build.
Which means I will end up using more abilities, but there's a difference between using abilities more often mid-combat ["spamming QWE off cooldown"] and just using more abilities overall. I tend to check bushes rather frequently by throwing my Q into it. Sometimes I just throw my Q into the darkness because I feel like there could be somebody there. Most Ezreal players I know don't do that.
I use more abilities overall, but I use them more by virtue of using them more constantly as opposed to compressing all of my usage into a short time frame (which is typical of ADC Ezreal play).
AD. Cuz that's what the world calls it.
No, they do usually write ADC and say ADC because the difference between AD and ADC is the difference between the likes of Talon and Zed, and the likes of Caitlyn and Corki.
:|
Welp, that's what blue build does compared to AD, which you said you prefer,
I.
Never.
Said.
I.
Prefer.
The.
Blue.
Ezreal.
Build.
Pay attention to what people write, okay? I in fact said the opposite.
thus it makes sense. But if you can't digest that that is exactly what you are saying then so be it.
To break into parts. I could not separate pieces of your argument out to respond to them, which is generally my preferred method of saying just about anything. Look at all these spaghetti quotes!
is more fun.
I will never, and I have never, argued that one method of play is 'more fun' for everybody universally.
Because as you yourself basically said: You like doing one thing and that thing is not what I like doing.
You are factually wrong in believing you could justify personal definitions of fun as globally accepted fact.
I paraphrase Zileas: Ability usage is fun.
I apply logic: On mana-using characters, building Mana, MP/5, and CDR allows more ability usage.
I extrapolate: Building Mana, MP/5, and CDR on characters that have Mana costs increases fun had.
I leave out: Being effective is generally fun.
I leave out: Not dying is generally enjoyable.
I leave out: A paragraph's worth of qualifying statements.
You derived your understanding of my thoughts from "they are more fun by virtue of being able to use more abilities and abilities are fun" at first, right?
I never touched the idea that "being effective is fun", nor "killing enemies with only a few abilities is fun".
Just that using the abilities is fun, and if we only look at usage of abilities, then not following a normal ADC build on Ezreal will increase fun had by the player.
I'm sure your teammates would rather not have someone on the team who doesn't care about winning the game. We call those trolls.
I don't care to win.
I'm not a troll.
Hmm, you didn't leave a space for what I am.
If you are competing to win the game then by default you care about winning. No way around it.
"If you're trying to win then you care about winning" -> Nope.
I only try to win because I think my teammates like winning. I don't care either way.
Because winning is more fun than losing.
I've had losses that were more fun than wins.
And whoever said I was speaking of Blue Build?
You.
"Skilled Ezreal players that don't take any of the blue build components can easily dominate games without going OOM. Using abilities is 100% necessary even on non-blue builds and AP builds. "
You continued to implicate it through your arguments...
"same damage of 3 blue rotations "
"Land a few shots with blue build... land some more... land just 1 or 2 more and then... there we go! Got one."
Most importantly:
"You find it fun to slow them for hours before ending their miserable lives. No matter how fun you think the latter is, you can't deny the fact that AD Ezreal is smashing faces faster and more efficiently."
You use the word 'efficiently' here. You then, in your next paragraph, say
"Now if you are playing something intentionally knowing it's less effective"
Effective and efficient, in this context, are synonyms.
The only logical conclusion I could/can see was/is that you refer to the Blue Ezreal build as one that is less efficient than a standard ADC Ezreal build, which simply is untrue. It has a different set of strengths.
So... You're saying that you didn't mean what you said the way you said it but in a different way? Great.
As long as it can be agreed that Blue-build Ezreal has different strengths than standard ADC Ezreal and that those strengths aren't directly comparable, that is.
I was speaking of troll builds and ineffective builds in general.
Well, define a troll build then. Define an ineffective build.
But if you think Blue Build falls into that category then so be it.
I don't. I never did, and never will.
Since when did I have to introduce myself?
Never. I didn't introduce myself, because I don't mind reiterating my arguments from different frames of reference and adding more background to them. If people take my argument as-is, then why would I give exceedingly large amounts of context for it?
Nay, it's better to have a large arsenal of information ready to be used and instead add as you go.
Your text gave the feeling of somebody in slight annoyance that somebody was misrepresenting their point.
The contradictions are real lol.
You do realize that there is a difference between "supah sewious" and "super serious", yes? Namely that one is dripping with sarcasm and the other isn't?
Games aren't particularly serious affairs for me, nor for anybody else I know. Since I have no indication that they are for you, I am going to run with the assumption that they are not.
...Okay nitpicker. It's one of the characteristics (aka part of what defines aka part of the definition) of what a game is. Jeez.
:p There are things that are best said the first time through if only to avoid people from wondering how much thought you're putting into your statements.
I need to work on that too. One more thing for the pile...
*> I still can't believe these arbitrary points you've brought up.
Not sure if this was something I said or something you're reiterating and my computer is bogging down because it hates Boards.
Double contradictions all the way across the sky. Yeah-eahhhhhhh.
Where? I don't see it.
I don't see why you think I have a problem with the phrase personal heresy. The only problem I had was with you accusing me of it.
You're still not interpreting the phrase correctly. I'm not accusing you of any form of heresy. Nor am I thinking you have a problem with the phrase, just an issue in understanding what I meant.
I said
"Personal heresy. Play games to relax and have fun, in my case."
This came from something along the lines of:
- Such a belief would be heresy against my own. I only play games so that I have the ability to relax and have fun.
Which is to say that "Yes I am a casual player", if I have to dumb things down to that level to get it quickly to you.
Which was in response to a semi-parody of the concept of a person calling another a 'filthy casual', which I contained the phrase "I don't want to have fun when I play games."
Which is heresy against my personal beliefs, so I personally could not say such a thing without lying or being demonstrative instead of self-showing.
It's... It's just part of the way I talk. Everything I wrote was in response to a jestful interpretation of the image macro you used.
Which I suppose *sigh* wasn't obvious.
Guess TL;DR for this is you think spamming is fun.
So does the list of Anti-Patterns, by Zileas.
So does the general philosophy behind a lot of the characters currently in game. Look at how many of them have at least one pretty low-CD ability.
Ability usage is fun.
Debate (that never existed) is now over.
While correct, not a debate, it isn't 'over'. It is never 'over'.
