5.14 dragon/baron timer update without vision

So with patch 5.14 coming, one of the changes concerns the dragon/baron timers. I'm going to put my point here at the start and that is: Doesn't the timer AUTOMATICALLY starting WITHOUT vision take all the skill out of map awareness of those areas? I remember lots of fuss when camp timers became a thing. I get that Riot wants to avoid teams snowballing dragon/baron but that is the perk of controling dragon/baron vision. Personally, I liked the system we are leaving where if you see the camp die your timer starts, but if you don't have vision it doesn't. Why?

  1. having vision on a camp's death required good map awareness/warding,
  2. was not difficult with sightstone, trinket wards, skuttle crabs and more,
  3. penalized you for not warding,
  4. but not to the point where you couldn't contend the next one if you are paying attention (visual cues, global death sounds, enemy team completely disappearing from map).

So I believe this new changes is going too far. I am not going to simply complain, but echo an old timer related thread which suggested and option to force start a timer when you think the other team took the buff. This would provide a middle ground between not having to pay attention (the incoming system) and spamming chat/scrolling up (the best you can currently do without outside apps).

Let me know what you think and I'd especially love to hear from the fine folks at Riot.

You can hear the dragon sound anyway. If you know the respawn time, you can just calculate when the dragon is going to respawn. So there isn't much point in only show the time if you have vision.
