So, the new Swain changes...

I was just playing him tonight on hexakill and while he's not broken what is the deal with the extreme delay on his ult right now? I understand adding a higher cooldown since Swain has been really strong for a couple patches. What I don't understand is coming out of the ult with a 16 second CD left over.

This is an ult that he needs to be able to turn on and off as a fight progresses. Yes he should be punished for turning it off too early, but with that long a CD he can literally turn it off after say killing one person then re-engage in a team fight and not have it up again yet.

It just doesn't make a lot of sense for the character. If Riot really wants to nerf him that badly undo the new cooldown change and just revert the healing on his ult to the old version that required you to damage people to heal. This newest nerf makes him feel really clunky when using his ult and overly punishing even when turning off the ult at what seems like an opportune time.

I know a lot of people will read this and just be like, "we're talking about Swain right? Forget that guy." However, Swains whole concept is damage over time and drain tanking. Swain without his ult is like half a champion. Swain

I think the logic is that you want lots of CDR on Swain nowadays which compensates for the longer cooldown, since on original Swain CDR was a throwaway stat you'd generally avoid.
