Regarding Champion Mastery

The FAQ states, "No demotions or decay is currently planned." http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/page/features/champion-mastery#faq

Please, please, please make players that are punished for bad behavior lose all their champion mastery points/levels/everythings similar to how honor points are lost.

Be very transparent that this will happen if you're a jerk in game and get reported repeatedly for it. I think this will be a great deterrent for toxic behaviors and certainly more meaningful than losing honor points, because I don't think anyone even uses that button much anymore.

But isn't champion mastery supposed to be about how good you are with the champion, not how much of a nice person you were?

Champion Mastery has nothing to do with your player conduct. It's how much (and how well) you play a champion. This is like saying, "Please make players go to level 1 if they talk shit in PvP," in an MMO.

Champion mastery also has nothing to do with your actual gameplay, like levels do in a RPG. Champion mastery is a reflection of your mastery of a champion that is purely cosmetic, and is a really sweet reward system on a psychological level. Play them, do well, get cool things. Shouldn't you also be held accountable for your conduct while building these rewards? I'm not saying only reward the super positive people. I'm saying that negative behavior should be excluded from this cool cosmetic reward.

That's a bit contradictory, just changing the focus of the phrase. Instead of overtly saying that positive behavior is rewarded, you're overtly saying that negative behavior is punished. It's still the same end result, and I honestly don't see how it helps any more than chat bans and temp bans.

If someone doesn't care about being muted or booted for a couple weeks, they're not gonna care that they can't unlock a champion's secret dance. Conversely, players who are genuinely concerned with how they conduct themselves online will probably consider not being chat/temp banned enough reward, and not really care that Champion Mastery is permitted for them.
