How the hell is riot not seeing that the new itens will destroy soraka?

C'mon man! Upgrade her ult to PREVENT G. Wounds for 5 seconds at least.

New grievous wounds only affects self healing not ally healing champs like soraka, sona, and can still do their thing

Yeah, suspect Soraka's going to end up stronger after this patch. The change also means that the GW removal on the ult's potentially unnecessary at this point, since the only thing meaningful it contributes now is that Soraka's ult always heals herself for its max value. Might strip it off at some point as a result if she's looking too strong.

But isn't it a problem if her own sustain, from W passive, is reduce by GW as her heal cost is balanced arround her ability to sustain herself with some good Q.

I kinda understand grevious wound for tanky sustain guy (play a lot of 3v3, sustain tank are near unkillable atm) but the fact she is heath cost/sustain champ who is not a tank can lead her to a really bad spot.

So, as you are open to remove some of her power if she is strong, is the opposite true too? (W passive immune to GW?)

If Executioner's Calling shuts down too many characters we'll certainly look at nerfing it. Similarly if Soraka ends up too weak we'll look at ways to add power to her. That's extremely unlikely to be in the form of GW immunity though, that mechanic's an awkward band aid that was originally intended to just be a temporary measure on Wish.

If possible, i'll try to phrase this correctly, what is up with the difference between Morellonomicon and Executioners? Mages have to wait till 40% of the target health is left, but Marksmen get to apply it anytime without any limitation?

The difference is in the intended way mages and marksmen interact with other champions (outside of laning where grievous wounds won't usually come up). In general mages are built to burst down their targets while marksmen are built to deal a steady amount of damage until their target is dead. Thus, steady healing has a significant impact on a marksman's success in fighting a target but has a much smaller effect on a mage's success (if you deal %100 of your target's health at one moment, no amount of healing will save them, if you deal it over 10 seconds the amount they heal per second is very significant to the health they have at the end). With this in mind it makes sense for marksmen to apply grievous wounds at full health because if they don't healing will have a very significant effect. On the other hand, mages only need to apply grievous wounds when they have already bursted their target (IE their target is below %40) to prevent their work from being undone. This difference does have some awkward consequences such as making AD assassins (like zed, yasuo, and talon) somewhat better at harass and AP sustained damage carries (like ryze, azir, or kassadin) somewhat worse at dealing sustained damage, but overall the system makes sense.

TLDR: Grievous wounds for mages keeps targets low after a burst combo, Grievous wounds for marksmen keeps targets from regenerating the steady damage they deal.

I think that even if it shuts down only ONE champion, it should be looked into. It will just be an 800g tombstone for them/him. There was a way this could have been designed to involve some sort of internal counterplay (Active with a cooldown, meet certain requirements, or maybe if a heal is > x% of max hp than it is reduced by half). I feel that the way Riot implemented it is kind of toxic and it disappoints me that they are unwilling to make the healthier decision and redesign it until after it has plagued live for a period of time.

Isn't testing what PBE is for? Leave it there for however long it takes for you to realize it needs work.

can we know more about soraka story pls

I actually feel like her heal's cooldown should go up by 1-2 second, her kit already offers so much already compare to majority of the other support unless Riot is thinking of reworking supports next than buff her all you want.

Raka should never be in a position to be aa'd by an enemy Carry. If she is she already dies on live, pretty much no matter what. Also almost every game with a raka in it faces a morellonomicon or two, so it's not like this is a new thing for raka. I think the grievious wounds is way more harming for Aatrox, mundo, Volibear and similar, who not only rely on selfhealing, but are also frontline champions and therefore ALWAYS being attacked by enemy carries.

Yeah that's what I'm saying. She already, alone have enough presence to effect player's build so why care if she gets hurt a bit, players like Pants are Dragon and Redmercy actually think she is kind of broken because of her ridiculous heals on such a low CD too, and already it's hard to get to her while she keeps her ADC or anyone alive through thick and thin while staying a safe distance away from enemy champion.

Has everyone forgotten that Soraka NEEDS to self heal via her Q to do her job?

darkdill9 votes

If someone's gotten on top of Soraka to inflict said Grievous Wounds, she's probably dead anyways and misplayed.

I tend to play Soraka more offensively I have killed all sorts of opponents that have gotten on top of me, partly because of the self heal from Q.

UkeNeverSeme1 votes

No offense, but that doesn't work vs better players, unless they get baited by a full tank soraka build, and up not bursting you, and misplay that way. Soraka simply has no reason to be on the frontline as a champion, her entire point is to disrupt enemy divers with silence zones, while healing carries enough that they can dispatch the enemy without dying. Selfhealing has to be used to heal other people with, not as a function of you taking non selfinlicted DPS.

That's definitely a mechanic that has more importance In lane (where mortal reminder probably doesn't exist yet) Then in full fights. Personal opinion tho is I think focusing soraka should definitely feel more rewarding then it currently does, especially considering your blowing resources on a support, and mortal reminder strengthens the idea of sorakas weaknesses, she'll still be strong and good at healing people for stupid amounts, and while the new grievous wounds does affect her self healing, I don't think it'll destroy her at all.

Why would they affect soraka?

This trash thread gets a response from Riot but the rest don't?

Priorities broken.

I've been playing on the PBE and have loved how the new masteries have buffed Soraka. Her heals are increased by 10%, her self heals and health regen increased by another 8%, her heals increase the target's armor and magic resist by 15% (whole team if you use your ult), and the 45% CDR means her W heal can pop every 1.1 seconds. Also, the masteries give her a bunch of extra health regen, helping her recover between heals. It's awesome.
