Fill

So I am a player who is comfortable playing any role except ADC. This isn't because I can't farm or win lane on an ADC, but because I do not have the positioning or mechanical skill to do well on ADC in teamfights. As someone who mains Support when going into ranked I would choose Support/Fill Now about 80% of the time I would get Support. However almost every time I didn't get support I would be stuck on ADC. It is at the point where now I pick Support/whatever other role I feel like playing most.

Now the Fill option is basically saying "Hey, give me whatever role is still open" The only time your 2nd option comes into play is if lets say there are 3 people who wants Top Mid and ADC. Then there are 2 people who selected Fill. If one of them had their other option as Support or JG then there is an impact. However this is very rare and doesn't actually mean a lot. So my idea was that if you selected Fill you could pick 1-2 other roles that you DON'T want to play. This would allow people to fill for 3-5 roles and not get stuck on just picking between 2 roles because they don't want to risk getting stuck on the role they are really bad at.

What is your opinion on this change to the Fill option?

I like the idea. I have noticed that the likelihood of getting support if 'support' or 'fill' is anywhere in your set is very, very high. That's probably due to the (why?) vast majority of players not wanting to play support, but it is annoying. I'm like "I just wanted to play something without knowing what it is... now I know what it is every time." and I love playing support, but I don't want to be support all the time, just often enough. Since I love support, I feel kind of underappreciated, does no-one think support is a good role? Don't they know the support carries the ADC? But I suppose that is a separate issue from what you're talking about, and really addresses the cultural aspect of role selection. (For instance, mid and top are the most sought after roles--why I don't have a clue. I can personally play any role well except for mid. Why are the solo lanes so desirable? It's a little strange to me. I don't get it.)

But back to your issue--I think a 'do not put me here' option would be interesting, and maybe it would make the system better. But since we're dealing with a ton of other humans' choices we just don't have a way of knowing for sure unless they do decide to implement it.

The reason a lot of people don't like support is 1) They are bad at warding 2) they like being the center of attention and getting kills 3) They don't realize how useful supports are Idk, people are dumb sometimes
