Maokai is a Vanguard?
His ultimate seems like it's more for Wardens since it's so slow. I don't know if that's the point, but does anybody think it seems more like a warden move?

OK so let's say he is in the jungle and Ults perpendicular to mid lane anyone in that lane will get caught by the time they see it they will be running out of room to manuever
It's a powerful move everyone is downplaying but that's shits going to make or break teamfights
its slower then nami's ult and we all know how easy that shit is to dodge but ok yeah his new ult is gonna be OP ?
lmao

if your tank is off in the jungle while you've got a teamfight going on in lane, my guess is that more times than not the team fight will be over by the time the ult gets there.
The root duration is significantly lower the closer a struck enemy is to the beginning of the ult.
If they get hit when Maokai first casts it, it's only a .6 second root.
It's best used from long distances away, and probably from unconventional angles and in ways that pin enemies against terrain or in jungle corridors; imagine using it into the Baron pit while the enemy is trying to take Baron.
Maokai is a vanguard, his ult is slow yes.
Pro tip: Dont use his ult for max range engages...
Flank, or get into the enemy team with W (twisted advance) THEN use wall to push team into bad positions like into a wall, or towards your team. Use it to divide people.
Ult can be used to engage on flanks, but its not a nami wave. Maokai has other skills too, his ULT alone does not determine his function.
OK, I'll say it once:
Terms like Vanguard and Enchanter are silly and are only used as fancy keywords to justify whatever changes Riot has in mind.
They specifically listed Maokai as a Warden on their official subclass list. Why are they trying to make him a Vanguard / Jungler now? He was perfect as a Warden.
