Curious what is Tristana's expected Role outside of tower destroying.

So I really love Tristana (she is my favorite marksman and second favorite champion) but always felt that she had trouble having a clear identity aside from tower taking and was wondering what that was. I know that the recent marksman changes noted her being pushed into something along the lines of an all-in AD caster and now I am not sure what she is supposed to be.

From what I know/felt due to her passive/ult/jump she felt like she wanted to achieve something of a long range cleanup/re-positioning hyper carry. However unless the enemy has really good engage I feel this is outclassed by jinx and jinx's rockets which give more range (albeit at a cost) and Jinx's passive. Similarly, Tristana's range while good isn't much better than Caitlin's even at lvl 18 (despite having to wait a whole game to have this passive become noticeably effective) and Caitlin gets this range advantage at lvl 1. So even though Tristana feels like she bides her time to become the super long range adc, it isn't that long compared to say jinx's rockets or Caitlin or kogmaw who each reach this range by level 9 or earlier.

When i play as Tristana I know that her high dmg combo relies on putting her e on a person, charging it up, and jumping on the person and maybe autoing a few times before ulting for the kill (this combo actually makes her have a high burst comparable to graves. However she can't easily use her combo because she is a super squishy adc that has to jump in to get her burst, and so this only gets used if you think the enemy will die before you die when you jump in. Plus, since her e ability doesnt have a greater range than her auto attack and the enemy can disengage before it pops, she becomes super reliant on her support holding the enemy in place for the stacks to build up and if she doesn't get a good all-in support with cc she ends up just farming in bot lane and taking whatever poke comes her way (making her laning somewhat lackluster unless her and her support have good synergy both in play and champ chosen). She trades her support reliant/avg laning for the lategame range and repositioning mentioned above, as well as potential super powerful in lane presence with the right supports (I really recommend braum and tristana for maximum jumping and on hit stacking fun in bot lane, plus a devastating all in as a reward).

The new changes look promising in that her rocket jump will now reset if she procs her e all the way (allowing her to jump to follow those who try to get away before e pops, and even if it doesn't kill them she can jump away) and I really like this. However this makes her want to land pretty close to the enemy and it sounds like you end up playing like graves without the tankiness. Thus I am wondering if the goal in her playstyle is to use her e on a person, auto them to stack it using your good range, and then jump after them (maybe not right on them) if they try to stop the bomb stacking, and then jump back to safety when her e explodes at full damage (basically making her want to proc her e at max stacks like she does currently, but letting her use her w to jump in to do so without needing takedowns). Looking at this potential I am super excited to be able to rocket jump all over the place and land on people as they explode and then hop out to safety, even if I might not have killed them but if she is to fill this role I think she may need some sort of immunity to at least cc while rocket jumping (or maybe speed up the animation like Quinn had happen to her e, I actually really like this direction) or I will go in to do my rocket jump/e proccing combo, and then die due to cc/just being closer to the enemy teams.

So I was just wondering what riot wants her role to be is all, long range/safe late game hypercarry (which is fun though I think she needs maybe a flat 700 max range personally), Tower wrecking god (which is like the first one somewhat overlapped with jinx), or this sorta repositioning hopping monster trying to chase after popping her e, or even a combination of them which is kinda nice too!

either way can't wait to try the changes as well as a max cdr Tristana build that is always shooting her e out for damage and jump resets so I can be the adorable little death cannon hopping everywhere that Tristana wants to be (I don't know anyone else who loves just blasting into the scene quite like Trist does) Also sorry post was so long.

Idk but if that range item makes tristana outrange turrets in preseason shell be a little bit more of an identity called " all you bases belong to me"

I believe Riot is going for a "I jump in and unleash Explosive Diarrhea on the person I land on" role for Tristy

Tristana is too easy and safe to be a hypercarry. She even pushes minion waves super fast with her passive (Jinx has to use some mana) and melts towers.
