How does one deal with lategame master yi if your team doesnt have a lockdown tank?

maybe its just me but recently I have had many games where a master yi gets devourer, bork, guinsoos or ghostblade (or both) and then any other choice of items. When this happens it seems that unless my team has a maokai, leona, nautilus, or some other high lockdown tank that he takes control of the game and is unstoppable. He reaches a point where if he sees you on his screen and you dont have a hard cc (or miss it) that he will kill you even under tower due to his insane dps, invulnerability, and sustain while doing it. Stopping him will then require your whole team to focus him down (effectively forcing ur team to be grouped at all times or risk possibility of him finding you, and assuming he has any competent team they can clean you up from what he leaves behind, or vice versa. Its annoying me that if I play something without assasin level burst that lacks hard cc (illaoi, rumble, karthus, most adcs) and he sees me he can pop his ultimate and kill me and i can't say anything about it and at best maybe run away if he isnt running ghost. This brings me to my question or desire for tips, if facing a master yi who is sated and has a few items, what can one do to deal with him if your team lacks a high cc member.

If your team doesn't have proper CC, you deserve to lose regardless because it shows an incompetent team comp.

If he went Devourer Mercury Treads Rageblade Titanic Hydra Black Cleaver and like a Gage or some defense item then even thornmail won't do much especially if he has a red potion. I personally use yi jungle when I jungle and once I get Rageblade Titanic Hydra and Sated I melt people so fast even if they have similar gold in items. At least most yis seem to build full damage which I don't like myself you still do insane damage with this build more than many people would think.

u need to kite him lol. he has 10 seconds on his ult which he'll most likely start from a distance, displacements like lee's kick or vayne's push make a big difference, if u can blow out his 10 sec ult trying to get to you, you win from there.

lots of champions can stall long enough like rumble, or sivir, trundle etc. anyone with movement speed buffs/items.

if hes tanky, you should have enough time, if hes buying full damage, you NEED to attack him back. Dont just run away when hes running at you, kite him dawg, he needs to take alot of damage before he even gets to you.

and ofc if hes just super fed/ahead, then hes just going to blow you up with either tanky or squishy build.

Thornmail doesnt really work i mean it helps but he actually does true dmg so regardless you are dead... i main malz i can kill him if i see him ahead of time and im ready for him but usually it takes me locking him down with my ult and a team mate taking him out.. now if he is too far ahead it will pretty much take almost the whole team to take him out and thats like you said if you have a nice tank on your side... To me that champion shouldnt exist 1 it takes no skills to play him ult+q and let the autos do all the work i say delete him lol

When it happens? Don't know. Really a team should have a source of hard CC in case of situations like this. I used the hate Yi with a passion, then I started playing tanks more.

You don't. You were counterpicked, had a shit team comp and you are now being punished for not being able to snowball with what I presume are high damage squishy AD glass cannons. Get rekt and learn the lesson.

You fucking bend over. If your team has no CC you were going to lose anyways unless you're like a full assassin team with bullshit cheese.

If you don't bring cc and let the game go late you are basically just boned.

Crowd control or all out focused burst the moment he decides to engage.

But honestly you really don't have many options at this point, Master Yi has achieved his final form in his best possible scenario while your team has decided not to pick anything that can remotely stop him. I'd say your best bet is to hope he gets super over confident so you can pick him off and sweep through to victory.
