With over 539 Armor on Taric, Thornmail, Frozen Heart, and Warden's Mail

Yasuo doesn't seem to care. Because he has a Bloodthirster.

Thornmail is so trash, I'm sorry. It's fine if the enemy doesn't have any Lifesteal items, but most of them that rely on auto attacks get Lifesteal. What's the point of this item anymore?

EDIT: To clarify, I was top laning as Taric against Yasuo. We went even in lane. For most of the game I could go toe-to-toe with Yasuo and do just fine. Once he got the Blood Thirster though that changed completely. Completely negates the Thornmail, even with all of those passives I had on me.

EDIT 2: Another clarification: This isn't a 'please nerf Yasuo' thread. I'm simply saying that Thornmail is nullified completely if your opponent has Bloodthirster.

Lmao.

First. Anything above 400 armor acts as 400 armor. The max physical damage reduction caps at 80% (=400 armor).

Second. Yasuo's ult gives him 50% bonus armor pen. Assuming you had 70 base + 469 bonus, to Yasuo you had 304 armor.

Third. 0 hp items. The effectiveness of stacking armor decreases exponentially the more armor you get, that's why you also get hp items. You were squishy compared to a hp+armor build.

And yeah thornmail sucks. But it's not the reason why that happened.

But he's right. Thornmail is good at being a "100 armor item" nothing more. Aka trash.

Anyway, the point of this thread wasn't necessarily "Oh no, I can't out duel Yasuo, please nerf Yasuo", it was more of a showcase, that even with THAT MUCH armor, as long as your opponent has Bloodthirster, it completely nullifies your Thornmail's passive. Which, again, asks the question: what is this item for?

It should be reflecting back more than he's healing, but I understand the feels. Yasuo is extremely crit based, so you should've immediately when you saw him getting fed gone for the Randuin's Omen, since it makes critical strikes against you weaker. Then he'd be caring because you'd be blocking 35% of his crit damage and blocking 35% of his total damage with the Thornmail, and finally lowering the damage by the armor you'd have by that point, somewhere around 560-570. Even if he's still outhealing your Thornmail with his Bloodthirster, it's just barely, so if he tunnelvisions on killing you, you can just eat all his damage without much caring while your team shreds him, not to mention your over 500 hp self heal on a fairly short cooldown and your damage that you deal as well, which is nothing to laugh at even with a full tank build. One game I played support Taric for my cousin and stole so many kills from him building full tank it wasn't even funny... For him, anyway, for me it was hilarious. Anyway, yeah, in one of the more recent patches they nerfed armor items and buffed MR, basically forcing mages who couldn't build to compensate for high amounts of MR out of the meta. An AD mid right now is just too powerful, and I feel like they need to buff armor a bit more.

Is this a thread about Taric QQ? Outrageous! Truly, truly, (truly), TRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUULY! Outrageous! Taric Aslo, believe it or not but a full build taric can outduel anyone, except those who live from poke, anyone else is dead as fug. You just need to balance your armor and your cdr, anything else its hand-play. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Thornmail UNIQUE Passive: Upon being hit by a basic attack, reflects magic damage back to the attacker equal to 25% of your bonus Armor plus 15% of the incoming damage.

(Bonus Armor is Armor from Items, Buffs, Runes and Masteries.) (Reflect damage is calculated based on damage taken before being reduced by Armor.)

Bloodthirster UNIQUE Passive: +20% Life Steal UNIQUE Passive: Your basic attacks can now overheal you. Excess life is stored as a shield that can block 50-350 damage, based on champion level.

This shield decays slowly if you haven't dealt or taken damage in the last 25 seconds.

the 20% life steal applies to every bit of physical damage that yasuo deals. all of it not just the AA. Thornmails reflect is ONLY based off of AA.

all things considered he will always outheal the thornmail reflect due to the fact that pretty much every attack regardless of if it is an AA or ability attack is going to heal him where your thornmail is not going to reflect everything he is using against you.

Can you link the game? I can see it on na.op.gg, but that doesn't show the order items were bought in, masteries, or anything else.

the combination of the last whisper bloodthirster and infinity edge is why your armor was meaningless. cutting 35% of your armor straight off the bat and having good AD along with the bloodthirster that was healing him for crazy amounts in comparison to what you were reflecting with thornmail due to his bloodthirster gives lifesteal on 20% on all physical damage done with both abilities and basic attacks... thornmail only reflects basic attacks not damage from abilities. thornmail is not really suited for use against a yasuo, its more for those that use basic attacks more than abilities...like ADC's

Just because you have lots of armor doesn't mean you should 1v1 a yasuo. Since you built all defense, you will do very little damage to yasuo and he can just heal it back up with his lifesteal while he will eventually take you down. If you want to fight yasuo 1v1, build a combination of defense and offense.
