Azir "nerfs" only encouraged him to buy a better, higher dps rushed item.

So after watching the LCS and playing against Nashors tooth Azir his DPS is even more disgusting than before. He is now encouraged to play way safer than before because of the knock up loss, only using his dash to escape primarily. Not saying I want the knock up back but item 3115 tooth on Azir and Azir in the current state is just as bad as before if not worse than pre "nerf".

While you aren't exactly right, you aren't exactly wrong either. The nerf hurt his engage-making potential, which is fine I guess, but that wasn't the real problem, the fact is is that he is a champion that is every type of Mage, burst dps poke zone utility, and what really needs to go is his Q damage, maybe not all but some for sure. It would remove his stupid early-ish bursting, and could open him up to changes to streamline his dps/zoning aspects.

His Q just needs to have a lower cast range. He's too safe for the insane level of harass he outputs.

Can't nerf the range, it's his only way to move soldiers. That said why it needed to deal so much damage in the first place is beyond me

I think if they reduced the damage it dealt (as well as the AP ratio), then he wouldn't be able to poke out opponents with just that ability. I'm fine with him being able to use it primarily to re-position his soldiers, but not for easy poke damage when he's not supposed to be a poke mage.

azir "nerfs" hurt only his healthy aspects (i mean the original ones ... not the ones that nerfed his insec combo) and forced players to exploit his toxicity to the max

from a zone controll sustained dps mage ... to an endless poke bully zoning mage

while zone cotnroll is fine because you can just avoid his soldiers ... endless poke is not ... when he misses he just pokes again and again and again all of this while having 0 need of staying close to his soldiers because he just needs to q into infinity

riot fked up

Couldn't agree more.

If Azir is supposed to be a burst mage hypercarry, he should scale appropriately for the late game. I main mid and have no answer to him. Almost everyone (Azir mains of course) will say his win percentage explains why he should keep his damage, but of course this is not taking into account his difficulty. Inexperienced Azir players are not the problem, it's the mains who know his true potential that honestly make you wish you would've have dodged in the first place. His Q range is absurd; I can't even play Orianna safely against him without taking unanswerable amounts of damage while not being able to trade in the least. The fact he can poke at all stages of the game from his turret to yours with crazy damage is unacceptable. I say give him back the knockup if it makes people happy, and reduce his q damage/range so that you can at least trade with him.

Why is this mage every type of mage and not a mage of one?

It's almost like the intense dumpstering he went through destroyed areas of his kit that weren't actually the problem, leaving those problem areas still wholly intact.
