Are there any tips to cs'ing with Vladimir?

Bought him yesterday, been doing pretty well and having fun. It's an eye sore almost every game though that my cs is always so shit, and its cringy because on most other champs I never have that problem.

Any Vlad specific tips for csing? Is it worth switching mpen for AD just to get the extra gold from cs?

Basically, get used to his auto attack animation.

As far as farming under tower, if you tap E on the wave, turrets will hit casters once, allowing you an easy last hit with an auto. Melees get 2 hits from the tower after you e tap and you can last hit them with autos.

If you don't use E to lower their hp by that little amount, you have to auto immediately when the turret targets them, then auto them again after.

This is why you take E lvl 2 if you're getting pushed in, and W lvl 2 if you're pushing out to avoid all-ins or ganks.

I run full HP, CDR, and AP/level on him. The AP allows you to go pretty much any item you need and still have fantastic sustain+damage. Using AD runes will just gimp you in the long run. If you REALLY need help, take the last hitting mastery in the utility tree.

Remember that you can tap E if you see you're gunna miss a last hit with a basic attack.

Start boots+4 pots; helps you avoid engages, avoid skillshots, CS, and get into trading stance more reliably.

Finally, as Vlad, your goal is not to harass. You do if its convenient, but CS is much more important. If I see they don't heavily avoid CR procs, I'll try to get them with it, but otherwise I afk farm and only Q them if they go into range of it.

Focus on farm, no matter how much of a lead or health advantage you have. Getting yourself ahead is more important as Vlad than putting your opponent behind because you WILL outscale them. You want to make that happen as soon as possible. Don't be aggressive if it costs you CS. Only go for it if its essentially free.

Vlad is kinda difficult to cs with. He has a slow attack animation and low damage on his attacks. The best way I would say to cs with him would be to use your Q to last hit whenever it's up, get 2 stacks of it like that, then you can use the 2 stacks to zone/harass your opponent and block them from some farm. If they choose to get farm, you get damage onto them. If they choose to back off and avoid damage, you hold the 3rd Q as long as possible before dropping it on a minion, to keep them zoned off. Farming with him also becomes a lot better the later the game goes, because of his E. If you need to, you can fairly safely go split push a side lane to catch yourself back up during the mid game.

A tip is to play a custom with 1 easy bot and practice last hitting.

Use Q and E. Done.

That's actually bad advice

How exactly? His only resource to manage is his health which he gets back from using his abilities Q and W. If you are going to miss a CS, you use an ability, to not do so is just stupid.

W? The skill that takes 20% of his current health to use? I guess it does heal for damage done, but that requires you to a) do damage, and b) do enough damage that the 15% damage to health ratio takes you above the amount of health you had before you started. Generally though, Vlad will lose out on health from using his w...

If you put it that way it makes sense now yes. Using abilities to get something you couldn't get otherwise is cool. You didn't really say that though. Use Q and E. Done. This totally sounds like use your abilities to farm all the time.

You ask how this is bad advice. You have written 5 words altogether. Didn't tell how / when / why to use abilities or in general any useful piece of info for the guy to get better. That's how

Practice last hitting with your basic attack in a custom game. You can use q to get cs that you couldn't get with a basic attack but try to keep it up for either harass or time it for a good opportunity to land a Crimson Rush q. If you get pushed under turret slightly pressing e(so minimal damage) does the same damage as a basic attack. You can prep minions with it, if you have no basic attack to do so.
