APC

Originally, Ability Power was for abilities and Attack Damage was for auto attacks. But for a long time now there are champions with AD scaling abilities and even AP scaling auto attacks(Azir, Teemo, etc). What if Riot reworked the game so that Ability Power was replaced by Magic Damage and most mages did magic damage with their autos that scaled with Magic Damage? Magic-based champions could choose attack speed and crit items to be back line carries or could go raw power for burst. Champions and items would have to be rebalanced of course. Zhonya's and Deathcap would be broken in their current state and Banshee's+Visage would be really underpowered, but after a rebalance wouldn't this open up a lot more variety? Riot probably won't ever put in this level of work for a full rebuild of their system, but would it be more ideal?
