Why do we have to unlock augments and slots?

I played my first two games of Odyssey, and it is probably not surprising that it is kind of boring on the first levels with no things to play around with. Now, looking through the augment lists, they do seem quite fun, but I honestly don't feel like playing this over and over just to unlock them and additional slots. Maybe cruising through the easier levels with all 6 would be too trivial, but it's not like it isn't already trivial or that you can't go back to it with them. I don't mind grinding for mission rewards but grinding to get to the fun part in a rotating game mode puts me off quite a bit. Cause well, it is boring. Am I being too nitpicky or can you see my point?

Yeah, I like this "feeling of growth" thing. Can we add this to SR? - I'd like to keep unlocking runes, the more games that I play...

what is it with people and wanting everything unlocked from the get go in this time and age?

So encourage the feeling of growth, the reason you start each game with 500g and lvl 1 in summoner's rift. The same reason you start every video game with a growth system, or the same reason you don't start you at the finish line in a racing game. It makes the game last longer and makes you play it, forcing you to come back. Forcing you to want to keep playing it and playing them repeatedly allows you to have fake game hours to makes riot happy. RPGs are 100s of hours of game play because thats literally how long it takes to grind enough materials to get the best stuff.

the first 4 difficulty stages would be mad easy if you got the augments right from the start.

also, to add a sense of progression and help learning to use and combine them.
