I know that Alistar's lore is yet to be retconned updated, but it struck me as funny how Sylas kind of reuses his theme of "broken free from his chains".

Not a "omg what is this shit" rant, I don't know how much of an overlap it is to others, just thought worth to notice.
Well remember how Poppy was the blacksmith of LoL before her retcon, making way for Ornn. I think this is that but they released the champions before retconning Alistar.
Different is when Alistar got free he wasn't trying to destroy his captor. He did at first but then he grew to be "i'm going to protect the world from your atrocities".
I'd like to see Alistar to be Sylas's antithesis. As Sylas acts more of a terrorist by toppling kingdoms, Alistar is more of a freedom fighter by rescuing the chained and the oppressed.

Just another example of Riot taking something that would be better suited for a rework for an already existing champion but instead turns it into a new one.
I've been saying this ever since I first saw Sylas in action and people've been telling me "Nah, they're not similar at all". In terms of their abilities, no, not really, but thematically?
It does make it seem kind of like Riot is done with Alistar now (see also: Nautilus now that there's Pyke).

This could mean few things. Alistar is getting completely changed to a being from mt. targon (as the rioter said in that wired video) so the theme of a freed from the chains is left for Sylas or just riot can't think of a new theme.
