"Resistance" line in Resolve tree isn't very interesting
Between Iron Skin, Mirror Shell, and Conditioning, I don't feel like the choice is interesting at all. Iron Skin and Mirror Shell are too similar and I don't feel they offer much in terms of gameplay. Now I haven't done the math so I may be wrong, but Conditioning sounds better in pretty much all situations. Getting the bonuses in the first 10 minutes is the only benefit of iron skin and mirror shell, and since they scale with your resistances they really don't help much at all for those 10 minutes (again no math maybe it's better than it sounds). I've even taken to using conditioning on champs like Taric who sound like a perfect fit for Iron Skin.
I'd really like to see this line of runes redone. I have a few ideas for replacements such as:
- gain increased resistances the longer you are in combat with champions - a choice for extended fights
- after being out of combat for X seconds, gain damage reduction for X seconds upon entering combat - a choice for mitigating poke or for short trades
- heal on first auto attack on a champion (per target cd) - sustain for hitting different targets in a teamfight
- gain resistance per nearby enemy champion - also for teamfight survivability
If anyone has other thoughts on this or ideas for Resolve runes please share them here. Would love to see some more interesting decision making in runes.
