Hextech Starburst on Sol

The item seems a little too good on him.

Aurelion Sol, in his current state is a very well designed champion in my opinion. He does a lot of things well. He has high damage, Phenominal ganks, Hard CC, Resourceless waveclear, Amazing Teamfight presence, Strong late game scaling, and a decent enough lane phase to top this all off.

All of these things together would be gamebreaking on most champions. However, Sol is able to get away with it because his kit, strong as it might be, gives plenty of counterplay to his opponents. By simply engaging on Sol and abusing his blindspots you can easily avoid his damage and effectively make him useless outside of a panic ult or flash.

His only other option is to take whatever punishment you chose to dish out on him and waddle away, praying he can gain enough distance to land a Q stun and float away.

As a sol player, it's your job to position in such a way that you're able get optimal use out of your W, while not putting yourself in danger of an all-in.

This item effectively removes that weakness. Yes, the dash is only 300 units, but, frankly, the dash could be half that distance and still be enough. Sol only needs to build a slight gap in order to land his Q, and once he's succeeded in doing that, he can begin to dish out tons of damage on whoever was foolish enough to jump in his face.

But why is this really significant?

Before Sol would be forced to rely on two very high cooldown spells in order to protect himself in those situaions. He would either Ult or Flash. Failing to do either of these would mean that he would have to take damage before being able to get away, if at all. Now he has a short cooldown escape which allows him to save these spells. If he doesn't outright kill you after landing his first stun, he can simply ult you away and proceed to kite you with his stars. Unless you're got a third gapcloser (which few champions do) you're basically boned at this point.

I can see this having negative effects on his ballance as a whole. Starburst could end up becoming like Sated devourer in that it's a little bit too good on certain champions (Think Yi, Shyv, Xin). This forces Riot to ballance those champions around the item. Which in turn leaves those champions in too weak a state to function without the item.

I won't lie. The item idea sounds really cool. The active sounds like a ton of fun to use in game. But from a pure ballance standpoint, the item sounds like it could cause a lot of issues for some champions. Sol was just the first champion that came to my mind.

Thoughts?

this item is too good on everyone...

the cooldown honestly doesnt matter. its just too strong since it increases the effective threat range of certain champions on top of flash. and im not just talking about mid lane mages.
