Is it just me or is MMR a bit TOO powerful?

So quick report on my salt: I ended b1 won 6 provisionals got b4 okay moving on:

Is it just me or is MMR far too powerful? I've found it's far too heavily built on finding where it thinks you belong and keeping you there... no matter if you get better or not

The stupidest thing I find about it is that you can't see it, it's an invisible iron fist thats built to discourage low elo players from climbing and high elo players floating on a cloud above the abyss. To the point where placements are pointless

Yes, I know, this could easily be taken as a salty bronze complaining but this is just what I think, if you agree/disagree lemme know

It also keeps you from getting demoted to hell with a hard or no way out just for having a bad streak. But nobody ever brings up that part.

One thing to keep in mind is that rank is relative to other players and not tied to objective rules such as "hits % skill shots". You might improve a lot over the years, but if all the other players improve equally, you'll still be in bronze. Sometimes I think the only way to climb is for other, less experienced players to join the game, who will then lose to the current bronze players which allows those players to climb elo.

Isn't the point of rank is to get better and improve ?

MMR is fine. LP system is not.
