Questions on adc

So I'm a support/jungle main and I'm trying to evolve into the adc role, but the different playstyle of adc from my normal roles is pretty difficult to adapt to, so I have a few questions regarding adc.

How can I effectively kite?

How do I deal with assassins?

When should I split/group

How do I solo carry as an adc?

Answering a few of these will be a big help, along with any other tips you have, Thanks!

To kite you need to attack and then move as your auto is moving towards your target. This will let you cancel the full auto animation a move quicker than melee champs while still dealing damage.

You can't deal with assassins well by yourself unless you are fairly fed. Best thing to do is buy defensive items, like merc, or ga and avoid engaging until they use their combo on someone else.

When to split/group is situation based but generally you don't want to be by yourself as you're very squish and have little to no mobility.

Kite by learning to orbwalk . What I do is use "a" key-left click (which has it so you attack whatever is closest to your cursor, so you don't have to click on someone directly). Shift-right click also works.

Deal with assassins best by having summoner spells up if you're an immobile ADC, or not wasting your mobility (to cs, for example) if you're a mobile ADC. Getting Ionian Boots/Distortion enchantment allow you to have summoner spells up more often, but I rarely go this route. Building lifesteal earlier, and building a defensive item such as Banshee's or Randuin's can help. I usually only build a defensive item in extreme cases.

If there is a big wave on one of the side lanes, you should go clear it for the gold and the pressure it'll place on the enemy tower. As a general rule, don't wander past the halfway point of a lane alone without vision.

Solo carry as an ADC is sorta hard because you rely on your team to an extent. Try taking bot tower ASAP and grouping mid to take towers. Focus on not dying in teamfights. Remember as an ADC, your most important contribution to the team is you do the most dmg to objectives! Your team won't be able to take objectives as easily after a teamfight if you die.

It's not nearly as easy to solo carry as adc as it used to be lol http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2099695552/200149339?tab=overview This was a game me and a friend played. I went nami 7/7/33 and she went jinx 23/5/16. If your allies dont group though it doesnt matter, you aren't going to 2v5 like before unless the enemy is entirely out of position. Your best chance for carrying as adc though is probably bringing a friend of yours as support. As for the assassin part you really have got to have map awareness, as soon as that talon/katarina/zed goes missing from lane you have to be ready to get out asap, Keep things warded ofcourse. Kiting all comes down to practice to be honest. Champions like ashe who have a lot of slows or like lucian who can dash to avoid things are good. As for splitting/grouping it's tough to say. If they get a dragon and your team is mid I would push in that tower so that the dragon isnt entirely free. Will your team do the same thing? Probably not, they'll probably try to one by one go in for kills instead. Even challenger smurfs and diamond smurfs have made threads on the boards about how hard it really is to carry a game due to the amount of kills people feed as well as the amount of afks. For example I just had a garen feed a tryndamere 4 kills before 10 minutes then afk. You really arent going to be able to win a 4v5 like that or if your adc keeps trying to turret dive and says damn every time they die(as if they expected a different out come). In my opinion solo queve ranked is highly luck based, duo queve is slightly less luck based, but still luck based all the same.

Effectively kite? that's kinda vague.. i guess just never get too close. I always walk back after every auto when poking unless I'm Vayne trying to stack

Deal with assassins? keep your distance + ward ... If they're too fed just completely avoid them.

When to Split/Group? Split when you are not really helpful to the team (you dont really do significant damage) and when enemies are around one area (when there's one isolated lane). Group when you've pushed enough (don't go too deep in lane alone unless you have wards and sure that you wont get ganked)

How to solo? Just try to farm. If you don't feel secure (like you might get ganked or get caught by support) just stay by turret even if you lose some cs.
