What does Riot think about Riven's animation cancelling?

Pretty controversial topic. I'm sure Riot knows about it, they already balance around it I personally think it's existence holds Riven's design back a little bit, and that the reference to fighting games isn't really worth it.

But since it's kind of a staple of her play at present, shouldn't the tooltip at least reflect this?

I'm pretty sure they think it's great, I'd be surprised if animation canceling wasn't originally intended with her design.

That's a ridiculous notion. There's no way they intended using emotes to gain a significant gameplay advantage for a single champion. I guess they decided to just balance around it.

They think its a cool mechanic to the game that was unintended. They know about it, they dont care.

Yes, It adds more depth to her gameplay, but it is kind of like the example they used with Veigar's old e. Once players mastered how to use it there was literally now way to avoid it. It is extremely unfun to go into lane and lose half your health at level 1 in 2 seconds, because Riven "mastered" a combo. It's too cheesy.

i would think it had depth if the mechanic created decisions for riven or the other player, but as it stands it's just the optimal thing to do. if you don't cancel every q then you arent playing her optimally

i think that's as lame as giving karthus doubled ult damage if he managed to type Qwapiopiopongodoshdinvipiola in the chat during the channel
