VI MID LANE

I dont understand why vi isnt popular in mid lane ,she seams extremely viable She's innatley more tanky than other mid laners very very difficult to gank ( unless they bait your q ) her e is actually really good poke because of its short cooldowns and you can farm with it at the same time Her q and ult gives her insane roaming potential and after you get your damage potential is insane and only gets bigger ,and all your abilities scale with ad she scales very well late game in teamgfights you can take out the enemy carries imediatley with your ult and still survive to fight on ,your e does damage to the whole enemy team

Am i missing something as to why shes not played in the mid lane ?

She was actually designed to be a mid lane so she isnt too bad mid lane.

I don't think melee is really an issue. I've ran Vi in the jungle up to lvl 4 Mastery and have held mid once when our AP Carry disconnected (luckily my opponent was a Talon). I don't think Vi would be a strong pick for mid, as she isn't immune to ranged harass. Her E has decent poke if your opponent has no idea what the range on that AoE is. Spamming it is a quick way to run OOM (60 mana a pop with a mana pool of only 300), and it lacks waveclear at the early stages. I mean, yea, around lvl 14 or so it seems like I'm one shotting a minion wave, but that's after a couple items. I just sense taking her mid will slow her development down as she will be subjected to harass and tied down to a lane. Roam potential of a laner is usually tied to absence of your opponent or being ahead. Absence is very situational and getting ahead doesn't feel all that likely.

All that said, I do have a custom item set for taking Vi top lane if lane swapping is required.

This makes sense however i think in low elos a vi mid will dominate , i just played vi mid to try it out ( granted im unranked and nobody knows what they doing ) i went against a zed and poked him out with my e untill i got my ult ,after that it was over ,poke till half health ult-e-ignite and then q if he escaped and i went 5-0 in laning i ended the game 21-3 ,the enemy team surrendered cause i could dive the whole team.Lol granted i was full build ,vs noobs ,me also being a noob i think vi is extremely viable where i am at the moment ,you do so much damage to the whole team with your e and titanic hydra,You can inititate by ulting to the back line because your ult does damage to everyone you go through and clean up the fights afterwards so easily with your q and your w does well to kill tanks ,I was just suprised at how fast she could delete squishys and tanks but judging from what you just said i could understand why she isnt universally popular
