Proposition new surrender vote reform

Let me start out by saying I understand why riot has the surrender/remake voting system, but what I don't understand is the way it applies when someone leaves the game.

TLDR: Fix the remake function. Allow individual players to solo leave after time has passed.

  1. Before I even get into the surrendering part of my post, let's talk about how wacky remake is. Remake is allowed whenever someone on a team either disconnects or doesn't move from their place in the fountain for 3 minutes. I have had games, RANKED GAMES, in which someone's connected to game for a few seconds (one time 8 seconds), bought items-I wish I could make this up, walked out of the fountain and then disconnects and remake is not allowed.

Let's also go over the fact that a whole three minutes is allowed to pass to wait for someone to reconnect. I haven't really had much problem with this, meaning I haven't experienced it much, but when I do it's "gamebreaking." Someone reconnects at 2 minutes and 50 seconds. Meanwhile the top laner, for some reason it's usually a top laner I dunno why lmao, but meanwhile the enemy top laner is at level 2 and the minion wave is either pushing back to them or is about to start pushing back to them. When my laner gets to his or her lane, he's two levels behind their laner and has to give up lane and safe farm.

Now you could say "well just gank his lane to get him back on track." The sad thing is, enemy junglers love camping lanes in which their team is level 4/5 and the opposition is level 2. Many of times, I will try to lessen the gap between their laner and mine, but often the battle will turn into a 2v1.5 and I, the jungler, will have to recall, if don't die, give up some of my camps to the other jungler, and still deal with trying to get the laner ahead while also focusing on other lanes. This all stems just from how long the remake time is allowed. Yes I know it's annoying to have to re-queue and have to load up the game again, but what's even more annoying is playing a 25-35 minute game at a disadvantage There's more I can talk about remake, but this isn't even the main topic.

  1. Surrender vote percentage must be 100 percent before 20 mins. When someone AFK's, the match is almost already decided. Try as you want 99 percent of the time a 4v5, especially an early game 4v5 does not build up well for the disadvantaged team. If it's a 4v5 and it's still pre 20 minutes, the system still requires a 100 percent vote. If a stubborn player chooses to say no, those other 3 players are kept hostage until the 20 minute mark (yes it's only 5 more minutes, but you have to take into account the amount of time that's passed since the start of the queue, loading, and watching as their teammate disconnects the game.)

What gets even funnier, is that if two players still want to play a 4v5 game, you're forced to keep on playing even pass the 20 minute mark. The average time of a 4v5 game with be 25-35 minutes for a team that's still trying to hold and get someone to backdoor or get a carry on the team fed. It can be even longer Why? Shouldn't a handicapped game be shorter than regular ones? No no no. Not only are summoners more on the defensive side and playing around their towers for more protection, but the enemy team can be complete psychopaths. They love the feeling of power. The feeling that their odds of winning have drastically increased. Some will "ace" our team, destroy all inhibitors and inhib turrets, and then even though they can end on it easily, they'll walk back or recall or clear out our jungle or dance taunt in the base and watch as one of our carries clears out the superminions. It just feels sickening.

This is all because two other people, usually a duo, want to play a disadvantaged game, which isn't always necessarily because they want to troll (it could be they're bored or something and want to see if they could actually do it) and the other player can do to stop them because us saying "open mid" and intentionally throwing the game is a bannable offense.

Solution inspiration: I used to play another game by the name of "overwatch" now even though I don't play it anymore, I think the ranked leaver system it had was amazing. Whenever someone dced from the game. The game would give the player I think it was 2 or 3 minutes to reconnect. After that time period, you were allowed to leave without being punished for leaving. You'd still lose rank points for the loss, but at least you didn't have to play a game with almost inevitable defeat. No hostage no problem.

Specific solutions: A) For problems when people just join, disconnect and remake isn't allowed it should be that if the person is inactive for 1:30 second until the 2 minute mark remake should be allowed. B) (IN RANKED) The amount of time allowed for reconnect before remake should be 2 minutes not 3. Again yes, it's annoying to have to queue up and wait for picks, bans, the loading and the game start but it's not fair for someone to lose LP over a match that was decided before the game even began C) I think surrender vote should be a 100 percent at 15 minutes when it's a 5v5! , but when it's a 4v5, it should allow a 3/1 vote to go through at 15 minutes. Adding more to that, It should be made that when someone disconnects from the game, they are given 5 minutes to rejoin, if they don't the members of the team are allowed to individually leave without a leaver penalty. This would eliminate having to wait for the whole 15 minutes (if they didn't disconnect at 12 mins or 13 mins), and also disallow duos and stubborn players from keeping you in game. Because I get it, some people want to test how good they are and see if they're able to win at a number disadvantage and they should be able to, on their own time and at their own expense. Just because I want to hold another person hostage because I want to test out my skill or because I'm bored doesn't mean I should be able to.

But that's my take on the surrender/remake system. Let me know what you guys think. Should it be changed? Stay the same? Problems you've had with the one we have right now. Problems you think we might have with the one I've proposed and also let me know if you've also had those join-for-8-seconds-then-dc teamates in ranked. But yeah. Have a good night. . . . . . . PS. I saw the Yasuo buff on pbe. Bonus AD after Ultimate went from 150 percent to 250 percent??? Just abysmal. riot will continue to buff champions with absurdly high play rates like lee sin (number 1 play-rate jungler) and stuff like Yasuo, meanwhile you indirectly nerf my boy ivern because the support items on stuff like janna and soraka were complete BS. HOW ABOUT ACTUALLY JUST NERFING THOSE CHAMPIONS AND KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF OF MY ITEMS!!! YOU HOTFIX YASUO AFTER THE CRIT NERF PATCH ON 8.14 BUT YOU CAN'T HOTFIX ONE OF THE MOST FUN JUNGLERS JUST BECAUSE HE HAS A LOW PLAY RATE. come on let's do better.

What you want to say is : Let me leave the game if someone leaves before i do and dont waste my time. Because if he reconnects we loose to 90%.
