Is kaisa really strong or am I just bad?

Champion.gg - Kai'Sa ADC Stats, Builds, Runes, Masteries and Counters

Hey everyone I'm a midlaner that has some problems facing Kaisa . Some of the champions that I play are Mordekaiser Taliyah Orianna and if I'm jungling then Ivern, but the majority of the time I'm mid lane.

Almost everytime I go against a kaisa I can't seem to beat her. I dunno what it is. I've tried focusing her in team fights but she's really elusive with her ability to turn invisible for a moment and speed up and bringing her down to low health and trying to ult her with Mordekaiser isn't rewarding seeing as that she just heals back all of her health with 1 Q even if I build a grievous wounds item.

Is she just a really strong champion. Is she OP? Should I be trying to 1v1 her instead? Maybe I'm positioned wrong. It could be I'm just not experienced at the game yet, but it seems she's not only problematic for me because she has the second highest ADC winrate, the number 1 highest ban rate in platinum and up, also is 3rd place for highest play rate at 10.86 percent. That means 1/10 games Im gonna see her so I have to find a way to beat her. Do newer champions by default just have better numbers, because I saw that she wasn't even mentioned in the latest patch notes.

Anyways some more questions.

Does anyone know how to win against kaisa? Do you think she needs to be nerfed? Can someone coach me on how to use mordekaiser better? Or coach me on how to get better at league in general?

Thanks for listening to me.

As a Kai'sa main, yes, she is very strong. She has one very big weakness though: as long as she hasn't built enough attack speed, she basicly deals 0 dmg in minion waves, as both her damage spells easily get blocked by minions.

just some hints: against ad/as kai'sa: if you get hit by her w, she's going to ult you. if you have some delayed area cc (like ekko bubble) this is when you shoul dcast it. against ap kai'sa: don't underestimate her w damage. Dodge it at any cost. When she ults, feel free to go in on her, as this is when she is the msot vulnerable. Also keep in mind her w goes on a much longer cooldown if she misses it (about 8s with full cdr), so if she is aggresively positioning, this is the time to go in for the kill.

Kaisa being spammed in competitive is typically not a good advocate for her being balanced

My honest answer is that it could be both, not that I mean to insult the OP: Yes, Kaisa is very strong and at the same time: to add insult to injury of her strong power you don't have enough good mid laner champions to go against her to begin with.

Mordekaiser in general is not that good right now and would strongly advise you to not pick this champion at the moment. While I main Mordekaiser and I love this champion with all my heart, he definitely has his own problems: He pushes with no escape, weak harass unless your opposing Kaisa is not knowledgeable enough to stay away from her minions for his W to hit, his ultimate is a double edged sword: useful or useless no inbetween, there are not a lot of AP bruiser items for Mordekaiser to utilize (Magekaiser is the only way to go), and last but not least he gets kited like a mofo and Kaisa doesn't make any different.

I don't know much about Taliyah but I have experienced going against her a few games and the only thing I can say about this champion is that you either can push or harass with your abilities. Unfortunately for Taliyah, I think Kaisa does those two jobs better assuming you keep getting hit by her W. Take this as a grain of salt.

Orianna is perhaps the most safest midlaner I can think of currently. If Kaisa is indeed strong like she always have, 1v1ing her is illadvised. Mages don't have that much sustain so keep your distance and farm. Harass if need be if the Kaisa tries to hard to harass you.

So yes, Kaisa is strong. But I think there are a lot more midlaners you could play that could be strong as her: Ahri - Kai'sa is squishy. Both have sustain. Land your charm when Kai'sa doesn't have much health, go in. Azir - If you want to be mechanically challenging, go Azir. I would be impressed if you do well against a Kai'sa. He is just as strong if played and executed right. Annie - Very simple champion, whittle her down and drop that bear. Syndra - See Annie. Balls in her face pron. Viktor - See Syndra. Zap from afar. You should be good with trades with him. ZedTalonPantheon - Any ADC's worst nightmare. Pick up on these guys and try to master them, gain the upper hand and make the little void girl cry. I don't fully recommend Panth though as Zed and Talon are typical assassins while Panth is one of the exceptions.

You need to stay near minions with Kai Sa. Don't get singled out alone. Her Q hones on nearby enemies and is not targettable.

And then you need to not take sustained fire. Her passive does meaty Magic Damage, every 4th hit. So don't stay in prolonged fights.

If she W's you (her long range skill), expect her to ult to you, and have a field of damage/cc ready for her, or an over the wall flash. She will follow up with a point blank Q (missiles) which is pretty reliable hits after a W > Ult.

She's not really OP. Just people don't expect the burst.

One really good thing about her is..... She's not USUALLY a crit build. She's first an AD build..... then an attack speed build, and then an AP build, which doesn't leave much room for crit. And other than her passive, most of her kit is AD damage, so armor works, as does HP.

She is busted af and one of the easiest adc's so don't feel bad about it, feel bad about the players who play her.

She's definitely strong, but idk if she's op or not. Wouldn't be surprised if she got some nerfs within the next few patches though. Does depend on how the marksman update affects her.

I will take all of these into consideration. Maybe I should try playing her even though I hate playing adc :( so I can get the feel for how to handle her.

So your three mid champs are Morde who gets kited, and then two skill shot champions that really aren't known for their burst but rather their ability to help their team? Then you wonder why you struggle against a champion whose great at dodging skill shots and kiting?

Don't ever try to 1v1 her unless your champ is a better 1v1 champ, which none of the ones you talk about are.

Just stay in the backline and dodge her W. She can't just ignore your frontline cuz her team most likely won't even react to her ulting. After her team engages on yours (or the other way around) continue watching out for her W as that's a death sentence.

She used to be fine, but people didn't wanna learn to play with 500 range so she got buffed.
