I actually like the new kayle look

I think it looks great :). I see alot of people saying that they dislike the look since it doesn't fit her old theme of being in bulky armor, but I'd disagree. I think her new look translates more that she's a squishier character. Her old look, being clad in full gold armor, translated more on a tanky side such as champions like leona and garen should be.

In fact alot of people think she's lost her personality. But in all reality, old/current kayle had/has no personality. Her face being shoved behind a helmet only amplified this feeling. Her personality was almost as stiff as her voicelines. And I don't mean in a dutiful soldier way. I mean she was even more generic and bland than garen's lawful-good archetype.

I'm not saying the path they chose was the best, in fact, I don't think they had to beautify her as much as they did, but I still think it was good. Alot of people are saying "she was one of the champions that wasn't sexualized or defined by her femininity." And that wouldn't be true. Though her femininity isn't as prevalent as champions such as kaisa or evelyn. Kayle was given "boob plating" (which only exists to translate that a character is female (doesn't exist in real life)) and dainty armor were made to bring light to the fact that she is female. I think what throws people off about how tailored her suit is to express her femininity are the shoulders, which is the bulkiest part of her armor. usually the more broader a person's shoulder's are, the more masculine they seem. And though wings aren't entirely female exclusive, it does add to this. I think what throws some people off is that the armor felt like it what was balancing kayle from being completely feminine and once it was removed and more femininity was added, they felt overwhelmed.

This rework is almost like a metaphorical coming of age transition for kayle taking into account that she's starting to feel more personal and whole and getting over a past. Instead of just a soldier behind an armor. This is coupled with the fact that there's a new feature allowing the revealing her face.

"Though a beautiful, striking creature, Kayle, now as then, avoids showing her face; war has taken a terrible toll upon her spirit."

I dunno. I'm sure the majority of the complaints are just the usual complaints whenever a champion gets reworked, changed or introduced, but I wanted to give a different perspective. One thing I will miss from old kayle is the cool splash art. Even though I rarely played the character, I always though the splash was badass.
