So, after yet another failed P1 Placement match attempt, I wanted to spell out for everyone the unfairness of the placement matches.

You get to 100p and have to win 2 out of 3 games to advance. If you advance you start with 0lp in the next division. If you loose both first matches (like myself) they put you at 60lp???

If placement matches was a thing on its own, surely it should mean if you loose 2 out of 3 it brings you back to, lets say, 99lp so that you then get another shot at either winning -> another chance or loosing -> you go down the lp. Loosing the first 2 shouldn't put you at almost half of the 100 that you needed to have to even get into the placement queue.

This unfair way of advancing needs to be reworked or removed from S6.

shits crazy and if you win like the first one and lose the next two then you get put at 75 LP

The LP you drop down to from failing a promo is variable. You win and lose LP as normal in your Promos, so (for example) if you lose 1 for 20 LP, win one for 20 LP, and lose the last for 20 LP you'll drop to 80 LP. If you lose 15 LP each loss twice and win 20, you'll end up with 90.

The 75 LP number is what you get when you're demoted (with decent MMR). If you get demoted with shitty MMR you'll be demoted to 25 LP.

Oh you mean "promos" not "placements".

Well, sure, hitting ~99 does seem unfair from pretty much any angle, but the reason you get dropped to 60 is because you're losing 20 LP per loss and didn't win a game to get any back. If your MMR was better and/or you won a match before losing the promo then it'd be much closer to 100 (if it's good and you win one, you'll only have to win 1 match to get back into promos).

But if Promos are a thing in their own right, they shouldn't affect your lp of the current league as if you win 2 promos outright you also don't land at 20lp of the next division to make it fair.

It promotes loosing rather than reward for winning.

You still lose MMR for losing in promo matches, and when you are promoted you also get Demotion Shielding, which nobody mentions when they complain about promos.
