Summon Rift Herald should only go to your trinket slot if you have no item slots available

Title says it.

Being so fed that you're full build or having that many lesser tier items or potions to occupy all your item slots is rarer than having a free item slot Herald could be placed in.

It's not a bit frustrating to be unable to use your trinket as long as you're holding the Herald. I mean, I can't possibly be the only person who've messed up trying to place a ward but summoning the Herald instead thanks to a second of not paying attention.

I believe it's supposed to be a trade off and a motivation to use it. You get fast recall, but can't use your trinket.

Considering Herald is a valuable objective I don't see the reason for having any sort of tradeoff. That feels like if baron gave you the same buff but a SLOWER recall. It doesn't fit the theme of an objective your team (or at least top and jg) should be fighting for.

Of course it's not the biggest of deals, however I usually find myself at least wanting to be able to ward before placing herald just in case someone with CC is around the corner.

Disagree. You get the best tower taking tool but can't throw a ward down to ensure you won't get ambushed during the summoning channel. It seems like a fair trade.

Did you know if you use up all your trinket uses before picking up rift herald will refresh the cooldown?

meaning if you use up your trinket, pick up herald and use it immediatly you can use your trinket again. best with yellow obviously
