Riot, If you'll ever rework Nocturne I want only one thing

Please, emphazise silence in his kit in some form or another.

Yeah, creepy grunts and voices can be scary but the correct use of silence can be just as scary if not more (and can even give a character an eerie aura).

Just imagine a situation in which the current Nocturne ults, the screen goes pitch black and every sound fades away. You can still use abilities, but you can't hear a thing, only silent whispers coming from the distance. You anxiously stand still for a couple of seconds waiting for the monster to emerge from the shadows wondering if you are its prey or not . This would be quite fitting from a thematical standpoint, if you ask me.

Basically reversing Warwick, who gives you his hunting music if you are low.

You will become extremely frightened when everything goes silent when Nocturne ults. This can be extremely terrifying, I agree that this would be a great direction.

That’s a really good idea. Deny the enemy the sound warnings of abilities like Kled Ult.

what if you just heard autistic screeching in your ear the whole time

I agree. And don't make him all scream-y. Keep his whisper-y voice, maybe even emphasizing it. Far creepier than Sion-style shouting and screaming, and far more fitting for a creature that can dwell in dreams.

What a thrill The darkness and silence of the night

Heres what i always thought: (Note, not ALL of these at once, just throwing ideas out) When he ults, along with his darkness, everyone gets a .5-1second instant fear. Or when he ults, and lands on a target, the target gets a .5-1second fear (so they cant instant flash and he can land his E fear also?). It would be very amusing to see his Q some how add a silence to it so when he lands it, they cant use an ability to run away while he chases them on his trail.

I do, very much so, agree with silencing everything when he ults, BUT.... Lets be real here, duos are in discord, or the soloQ are listening to hentai music so loud they cant hear the game anyhow.

Then just combo him with Kled RekSai Sion Warwick

I was thinking of an effect where his ultimate would fear enemy units upon impact. For example, if Nocturne pressed R onto an enemy champion and dived into a teamfight it would literally fear all other units around target champion for 1.5 seconds.

But yeah an additional effect where he silenced all global audible ultimates like Kled or Sion would be insane synergy, would just be a guaranteed hit for Sion and Kled won't miss his dash

I would love that.

Its scary unless you are Lux or Xerath who can just blast the monster away with their energy beams.

Well I play league of legends without sounds because either i play with my friends on disorcd etc so in order to hear them i have no sound from game or i am playing from my friends house so we talk/play so I dont hear the sound even if there was or I put some music from youtube. So MY experience games me winning or losing isnt affected by sound.

AND BECAUSE i dont have sound i ward, i buy control wards and look the map and other lanes.

I think the ultimate is broken to begin with. I like the thematic idea, but I think it would just make Nocturne stronger.

What is a silent whisper?

ModAcademy Kayn6/2/2019, 6:50:25 PM1 votes

The only concern is the synergy between that and Sion/Kled's ult, or any other ability that uses sound as an indicator. But who knows.
