Sylas is pretty lazy design tbh and busted even without the Ultimate.

Passive is basically better Diana passive. Q is basically Illaoi Q that erupts like a Vel'Koz W. W is basically an Illaoi W that has a heal and an execute mechanic. E part 1 is basically an Aatrox E, 2nd part is basically a Nautilus Q.

This guy actually has EVERYTHING in his kit. It's like there was a build-a-bear-style champion workshop at bring your kid to work day and Riot just tacked a moderately-interesting ultimate onto it at the end to make him seem cool and unique.

Neeko Q is similar to lux/zyra/morgana Neeko W is similar to shaco/leblanc/wukong Neeko E is similar to lux/zyra/morgana neeko R is similar to zyra/nunu/morgana

A lot of champions use similar abilities. It's how they work with the rest of their kit, and the small differences they have between them that make abilities unique to that champion. Having similar abilities to other champions also makes a new champion easier to pick up, as you already have some idea how to use their abilities without having to relearn something completely new. We're also at a point where most thing have been done to one degree or another, so reusing basic things that are already on several champions is going to happen. Players would complain even more than they already do if a player had 4 completely unique, never before seen mechanics, as it would be substantially more difficult to balance. New champions usually only have 1 or 2 unique abilities, and that alone makes them balance nightmares.

Neeko E is similar to zyra

I actually mixed up her q and e when I was typing this to be honest, but both are pretty similar to lux, morg, and zyra's abilities.

these 2 skills work in completly different ways, morg Q punish you for not staying behind an unit, neeko's E instead punish you for staying behind a unit

anyway i got your point, even though i think there is a limit towhat you said they released 3 champions with similar concepts "stealing something from the enemy champions",on top of that the other abilities are everything but original/creative so in this case it's fair saying that it's a lazy design

If we had something like trinity force for AP, he would be broken with it into tank items. Right now he doesn't have any good options.

There are many champions with similar ability function. Does that make them lazy design? If that's the case then at least 80 champions out of like 140 are bad designs.

Basic and low mechanic skill kits doesn't mean lazy. But sometimes complex and high mechanic skill kits doesn't mean it's good either.

yes

140 damn champions, do you expect riot to make 5 unique abilities for each and one of them? 140×5= 700 abilities. That's the same number as the number of years for Wall-E being all alone yet so perfectly functional. You're unbelievable sometimes man. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

don't need to invent New mechanics but that doesn't mean every champ should have the same generic strengths

Idk what your philosophy is, but how you expect 140 champions to not have same strength and weakness?!?

Hey, he doesn't have actually everything. He doesn't have grievous wounds, he doesn't have suppression, he doesn't have true damage... come to think of it, yes he does, if he steals Kat ult, Malz ult, or Darius ult. He also has a three-hit passive by stealing Jax ult, he has damage immunity with Kayle/Taric ult, he has untargetability by stealing Elise's ult and using Rappel, he has CC immunity by stealing Olaf's ult (and sit on an armor/MR boost until he uses it), healing teammates with Soraka ult, MS boost (and heal) with Mundo ult, global damage with a handful of ults...

When you say he actually has everything in his kit, are we talking with or without the balance nightmare ult?

It's a basic fighter kit. Not something overpowered like you're claiming. The numbers probably need to be reduced, yeah, but mechanically it's a solid kit.

THUNDERMINE1 votes

he seems an extremely niche pick to win a game unless they reduce the cooldowns on his ability to steal someones ult or let him steal his allies ults too lol. I agree he is extremely vanilla.

wildfox9T2 votes

you forgot to mention how they recycled the same theme of (somehow) copying your enemy 3 times in a row Zoe Neeko + him

riot is running out of ideas [slayer-pantheon-popcorn]

He doesn't seem overly strong but I can already tell this guy is going to get reworks like mad for a year. Kind of like most champions released lately.

He has to be the most generic looking champ ever. Shirtless guy with jeans could he be anymore plain.

It’s kinda like saying that this champion has a basic attack, plagiarizing all of the other champs because they also have basic attacks. Or this new champ as a slow, but these champs also have slows on other abilities, therefore this new champ does not have any originality and thus must be purged.

Once Roit reached 59 champs, of course they will lose some originality. Doesn’t mean all champs they made are terrible.
