@Riot What happened to the other build path for seeker's armguard?

Back in S3 when it was introduced I remember a rioter mentioning there would be another build path for since AP mids only really have one option against ADCs, Zhonya's. It was a bigger deal back then since AD mids such as and were an issue but now with all the marksmen buffs and the minor zhonya's nerf it reminded that there was supposed to be another option.

Not saying Mages don't have good options for HP or MR (they do) but it feels horrible to be forced to buy Zhonya's or a straight tank item if the adc gets out of control and if Zhonya's is nerfed they have to grin and bear it.

Since I noticed has another buildpath in twisted treeline did you guys intend for it to be put into SR then realize it doesn't fit summoner's rift? Or was there an item in development that got iceboxed/canned because it seemed that Zhonya's was doing the job as 'AP armor item' just fine?

All of the marksmen changes just had me thinking about AP mids.
