How to Play Fizz?

Sworeclipse··1 votes·901 views

So, I've been thinking about buying fizz but I'm not sure yet. I also don't fully understand his E and W... I don't get how he can one shot with only his R and (I think Q) doing damage. I know that his E is useful for juking and his W is useful for.. Auto attacking? (seriously wtf I don't get it.. How TF are you supposed to keep auto attacking someone thats running away)? Regardless, I still want to play him and everyone is saying he's really good but I just don't understand how he one shots. I would really appreciate if someone explained this to me, thanks in advance :D.

he ignores unit collision and his autoattack range is 175, trust me it's surprisingly easy to land more autos than intended with him

Oh ok, thanks! I thought he was 100% melee lmao ;D

Almost all his damage is from auto attacks. He does damage the same way any melee champion does, with added trolling.

W gives him big AP ratios on autos, activating it makes them even bigger. Q is a dash that also applies all on-hit effects, including spellblade and W active/passive E does damage, and is either used for engaging or dodging abilities, and it can jump some walls.

a typical combo is W > R > Q > E > spam autos, or if someone comes at you, like jax or pantheon, E > W > R > Q, the Q shoots you past them to safety/ahead of them after doing a ton of damage.

Start/max W for clear/damage, try to poke people with it while they are CSing. Max E second, Q does not scale much.

Maxing E first is better in mid, W for top.

Only bruiser fizz maxes W normal fizz maxes E

Fizz is generally fun to play but I stopped playing him cause back when I bought him people were spamming Zed/LeBlanc which isn't a good time if you don't play Fizz well. He's pretty weak early and gets bullied hard early by basically every mid laner. Some matchups are easy namely TF but some require knowledge of when you can trade and how to use your mana pool + E appropriately.

Ah ok, I don't think I'll play him mid though, maybe top...

you just need cdr and some mana to fk shit up with him. so like item 3078 /item 3025 + item 3157 & item 3152 but build a item 3027 so you have enough mana to spam for a while.

mm ok...

People whine and exaggerate about him too much.

Q is used for both gapclosers and escapes. You can also juke skillshots by targeting a minion. W is for short duels/trades, or extended fights if you have like IBG or such (tank Fizz) to stick to them. E is the infamous troll pole that can dodge everything - well, almost. Certain point and clicks cannot be dodged, and if you E while Ignited, the burn will still apply. With sufficient timing, you can avoid tower aggro as well. The key is deciding whether to chase or run with a double E or ensure the kill with a single E for the slow. His ult is basically a skillshot Zilean bomb that will autoattach to a nearby enemy champ. The ult is a knockup and slow as well as increasing your magic damage against them.

Between the R and E slow and Q/E gapclosers, they help to chase down enemies.

I hope that could help.

Ah ok... I still don't completely understand the E. First cast it slows in an area around you and does no damage (also makes you untargetable)? Second cast does damage but now slow?

Astôlfo1 votes

If you cast E only once and thus drop straight down, it slows and deals damage I think. If you cast it twice, you can leap further, and it'll still damage I think, but without the slow. As long as you're on the pole, you are untargetable.

Don't play fizz myself but from watching others play, Fizz's main damage is E, and by landing R on top of dealing a chunk of damage you amplify all of your damage, hence making E which already did a lot of damage to hurt more. Your Q + W combined are just addition to that and won't be doing much until you got yourself a sheen.

Thought his main damage was W???

No, his W offers consistent damage because it's damage over time but that's not his burst. At max rank, his R does the most damage, 450 plus a delicious 100% ap scaling and further amplifies fizz's damage on his target. His E comes in second, 270 plus 75% ap scaling.

Sworeclipse1 votes

Ah ok, thanks so much! A quick question, does his E damage around him? Like, how does it target and do damage

No flash no life1 votes

It's a mobility skill shot that deals damage to the surrounding area where he lands on. Take note that you can flash right before fizz lands on the ground to relocate him and the area he deals damage around.
