First Item on Vayne

Hey all,

Just curious if anyone out there has been trying a different first item then BotRK on Vayne. I frequent sites like probuilds and champion.gg and noticed that Vayne players who elect to buy PD into IE have a substantially higher win rate then those who rush BotRK. Anyone have any input on why this might be?

I was assuming it was because the popularity of assassins in the current meta (damage reduc from PD) and a lot of Vanye's opting to max W over Q lately (higher AS means more W procs). I would also assume that BotRK would still be better if the enemy team has a lot of tanks/bruisers.

I'm a silver 3 ADC main, so any advice that could help it me is greatly appreciated.

I don't know much about Vayne, but didn't item 3153 get massive nerfs a good while back?

I think you mentioned most of the bonuses, also it gives you flat +% movement speed vs. having to get within range of the BotRK active to get a movement speed increase, so you'll be moving to and from other players and objectives faster.

It's also probably a bigger power spike, while BotRK is a decent dueling item, PD+IE is going to output more damage than BoTRK+IE, if the opponents are building armor I don't see BoTRK dealing much damage anyway because it's physical damage based on current HP, it's notably good when the enemy has a lot of HP, or if they have armor, if it's paired with penetration.

I'll try going SS/PD+IE, I've been going the old botrk>ie build, was thinking about bt>ie though

Vaynes have been maxing w since forever. Though i'm wondering if Q max first would be a better option now due to the flat dmg removal of w? Idk, I can't do maths.

Anyways, bork was nerfed and isn't the best build imo. PD into IE gives you an insane power spike and you want to keep on building even more AD. I like to follow gosu's build and I find it fun, PD>IE>BT>ER>Mercurial maybe here.

actually the way i usually see people build her is item 1038 or item 1037 first depending on whether they have enough money for bf sword and then item 3094 as first completed item. i rarely even see people build botrk on her at all anymore unless fighting a really tanky comp

Course it depends on the team comp. If they do not have a tanky team and you still picked Vayne, its still very realistic to go Bloodthurster into PD(or other version).
