This week of NA LCS was the most fun I've had in awhile with LCS
Hey all,
I get it. It's Week One and all, so it's too early to start predicting how the split will play out, but the overall level of competition has improved. TSM, CLG, and C9 don't seem like the only contenders to win it all. Sure they may be the top choices, but P1 has roster with a lot of potential, Liquid looks posed to have a solid split (still unsure on GG though), Lourlo has seemed to improve greatly, while Flame and Looper add a lot of talent to the NA top lane scene in general. Even Echo Fox put up a solid fight in both games. Former C9 (Flyquest) when 2-0, I personally did not see that coming, while DIG and IMT both pleasantly surprised me as well.
While the health of the game may need some help (don't intend for this to be an assessment of solo q or balance, etc), I think the new 5 ban system made for a few interesting picks (sure champion pools aren't as big as very early pro seasons but it was a nice change of pace) and meant each game wasn't a rematch of some combination of 10 out of 15 "meta picks".
I don't follow eSports super closely and i'm just a regular dude in gold so this is simply my 2 cents but I've been watching League since season 2, and was starting to lose interest in the professional scene, but after this weekend will definitely be tuning back in.
p.s. TL will qual for Worlds, Cubs won the world series, and TL/Curse is the NA LCS Cubs. Anything is possible.
