Mordekaiser [Malicious Metal?]

Hey Malicious Metal/Hey dear Reader :)

I just bought the Metal-Man because I saw so many threads of a guy named Malicious Metal. Now, after playing some Games as MK, I feel like I don't really get his playstyle.

What I do is: Trying to Q them as much as possible, use my E for harras, get kited into oblivion. What I don't do is: Fully understand how my W works.

My build is something like: Rylais, TF, Steraks, never sure wether to get Tenacity or Sorc boots, Hextech Belt, Rabadons, Abyssal or some Tank items like Spirit Visage and DMP

Would be great if somebody could explain Morde a bit to me! Maybe you can share your strategy how not to get kited so hard, too ^^

Glad you picked up Morde due to me never really shutting up about him^^

Anyways, let's talk a tiny bit about the Metal Man

His W's a great sustain tool, helps a ton in trading, putting it on your frontliner and following them into the fray is where it shines. It gives both of you melee dudes an AoE slow as well as a heal.

I usually go for a skill order like this; E->W->Q->W->E max, Q Max Two points in W give you great laning power early on.

My build's either; item 3116 item 3053 item 3146 item 3065 item 3742 Or item 3116 item 3078 item 3053 item 3065 item 3742

Boots should almost always be Tenacity or Ninja tabi in extreme cases.

Not getting kited is quite tricky but I found using my ultimate as a semi-engage tool and follow up with my other low CD slows usually does the trick, or simply letting your team engage and following up with your own arsenal of slows and damage.

As a follow up to Malicious' post below, I think it should be noted that Mordekaiser's Ghost will apply Mordekaiser's spell effects and the killed enemy champion's on-hit effects. Remember this if you are getting kited since some enemy champions and Dragon have basic attacks with a longer range than Mordekaiser so using their basic attacks to apply Rylai's slow can help in such a sticky situation.

Some Tricks For Morde As Well:

  1. Your W heals for the full amount against monsters so, even if you are laning, going into the jungle to heal off of a nearby camp with multiple minions can be worth your time.
  2. Early dragon pressure is important as Mordekaiser, although probably not worth a team wipe for.
  3. Unless I am mistaken, Mordekaiser's Dragon doesn't have a leash range, so you can split push with it. This is a niche trick, but can be useful at times, especially since it can seriously tank towers and it's AoE basic attacks can push waves at a decent speed. However, again, this is a niche trick. Use it only when necassery since the Ghost Dragon is really good in combat.

Thanks! :) Could now anyone explain his W to me? I really don't get it... If the circles overlap it'll damage everyone in the overlapping area?
