What kind of main are you?

Are you the mage main that bursts everyone down? Or the fighter main that dishes out continuous dps? Or maybe you're an assassin main where you kill one then just use abilities as they come up.

What I've noticed is that all the high elo people that are plat+ use any champion that DOESN'T have a resource. That way when the enemy is oom, they can just go ham cause they've got nothing to lose. Meanwhile any champ that does is stuck being useless cause that riven over there is shredding everyone with no limitations except cooldown.

So lets see the mains and what rank most are.

CS/min as a flat stat doesn't really mean anything; you need to compare your cs to the other people in the game. Did you lose lane that game? You're probably going to have had much lower gold at 10 but by 20, maybe your gold was back up anyways, whatever. What I'm saying is: numbers don't mean shit without context, so make sure to always check the context before you just make conclusions based on numbers. Numbers out of context are almost always scary.

People at high elo don't necessarily use champions that don't have resource. A lot of champions that don't have resource often lose in a straight fight against champions that use mana and aren't oom.

B2, though if my teammates weren't trolling when I did Ranked matches I'd probably be around S5 or something by now. Bot Carry main, especially with Tristana; however, also trying to main Jungle with Champs like Nautilus and Udyr.

Also, support main below plat (since I'm a gold shitter) because I love bathing in the tears of enemies as I annoy them. By hardly ever doing damage. Feels great to outsmart big dummies and watch them fall for my own "traps".

If they're a mage if you build em that way, they're a mage. (The amount of times I got killed by a bard after 2 AA's and a Q in urf....)

I'm a support main. I may not be able to kill the fastest or push the hardest and people may go out of their way to shit all over me (to the point of permabans!), but I have eyes everywhere (even where I don't; ESPECIALLY where I don't) and I can fulfill almost any role and play almost every champion, and I safely wear the enemy down over a period of time. It's not the fastest method, but it's effective, and I am patient.

I was Platinum last season and I'm currently in promos to Platinum 5 this season, so I'm not sure in which category you would consider me.

Many people in lower ranks seem to think that champions like Zac, Lee Sin, Yasuo and Riven are simple to play and freelo even if they are horrible with them and would perform both better and more consistently on a simpler champion.

Meanwhile, players in higher ranks tend to realize they suck with them and play champions they work well with.

Close enough to plat, you're in plat lol. I only used plat because its kinda the border that separates the really good players from the bad ones......and there were only 10 options. But in this season gold/silver/bronze, more or less the same except csing. Its only once you reach plat+ that you go from 100 cs to 200 at 20m or so (or more idk). And the mechanics may actually get better.

Vladimir is weird now. I want to call him a tank, but he functions as a mage. Major identity crises. I'll label under mage.

As for resource management, people are pretty good about it for the most part. I'm rarely able to stall people out of mana, save for champions like Ryze who are built on spam. It's more important to know cooldowns.

I'm fond of assassins and fighters, myself, though I usually stick to fighters if I go into ranked because they're more reliable. If I'm 0/3 as wukong I can still make plays happen with my ultimate, which can net me kills. Harder to do that as someone like talon or kat.

I'm getting back into Ekko (AP, so I don't have to make a hospital visit for cancer) so maybe I'll be doing more of that if I start playing on the rift again.

Im a tank main that builds off-bruiser with penetration items and runes to carry if need be. Common build for amumu: Armor seals, Mr blues, pen quints and reds Rylais, Liandrys (rushed if ahead), Randouins/DMP, cinderhulk enchantment, sorc boots, and banshees/Warmogs/Abyssal/Zhonyas/etc (usually dont get to this part/I pick amumu into AD heavy)

I am just mid bronze. But I do run an average KDA of 3:1 doing this and have carried many games after my team put up a surrender vote.

Into magic heavy teams I go Warwick with one or two on hit items and health+mr.

If Im first pick I go cho or voli.

Yeah I'm gonna label him as a fighter. No resources and can't burst someone down with all 4 abilities (comes close though probably).

So annoying though that it seems anyone that has mana seems to be at a disadvantage in extended fights. Though I don't really have data so I'll wait till more people vote in the poll. See if I'm wrong or not.

If I'm not though, why you gotta be like this riot? T_T

I still think his ingame listing as Mage/Tank is spot on.

I guess the idea behind mana is that it suffers in extended fights. Most mages are bursty anyway, like Ahri, Veigar, LeBitch, Brand, etc..., so the idea fits for them.

The aberrations are when you get Champions who excel so hard at extended fights but are mana-reliant. Swain is one such example.

Resourcelessness supposedly comes with high caveats for the power. Vlad for instance has no hard cc and low range, and little burst against non-squishies (but with the option to buy Rylai's, once you get in his range you will struggle to get out). Riven is all-melee (though with four dashes and two forms of hard cc, that weakness struggles to mean anything). Yasuo is supposed to be squishy, is heavily item-reliant, and is almost entirely melee (though with his situationally infinite dashes, his melee-ness struggles to be truly significant, like Riven).

Honestly, I don't think mana makes too much of a difference post-laning, outside of specific cases like Swain or Kassadin actually running out of mana even at full build. If you lose a fight, more often it's because of your kit or your play being inferior to your opponents.

I tend to go either super Tank (Braum, Sej, Shen) as support or a bursty/control mage (Zyra, Bard, Taliyah) support.
