Aight lemme give some insight.

Masteries: Usually in this meta stormraiders is the way to go the move speed and slow reduction really helps you be an unkitable monster together with cleaver and deadmans. Second best is Fervor of battle yes it is a great mastery that works well with his own passive usually you take this vs hardcore tanks like Poppy Maokai Malphite etc the so called unkillable ones you still go stormraiders vs bruisers. Colosus was decent before the nerf on darius but right now your best bet is fevor and storm colosus can be used if the enemy has a lot of melee champs so it makes it easy to proc consistently personally i cant play with it.

Starters : If you wanna kill bitches go dorans blade or corrupting potion Sustain go cloth 5 or potion( dorans shield isnt worth in ranged matchUps and it builds into nothing.) If you are cocky you can start a long sword to cheese the enemy altho i dont quite advise it over corrupting and dorans blade.

Poppy MatchUp is easy just autoattack her to death and once she uses her E use your Q since she doesnt have a way to avoid your Q also dont pull her to yourself if she can stun you like duh..

Vs ranged matchUps it is advised to rush tier 2's early darius can get away with tier 2's early due to his base dmg. Also a personal tip item 3190 is a great 3rd item on Darius currently and you should abuse it while you can.

I'm in the top 120 Darius players currently with a 62% win rate over 50games not a god but not bad either.

Howd you fight poppy tho she had CoC + her passive made the shields overwhleming

While I don't necessarily main him, I do keep him in my champion pool and play him occasionally.

Personally, I preferred running Fervor of Battle whenever I played him. I would specifically use him to counter-pick tanks (i.e. Maokai, Nautilus, Poppy) and it was rather simple to stack during extended trades.

Generally, I would recommend starting with Corrupting Potion. However, you may want to start with Cloth+4 or Doran's Shield in certain match-ups (i.e. Yasuo, Jayce) for early combat stats.

If you don't have to leash and want an easy advantage against most tanks, wait in a bush behind them at level one and force a trade. If you take W and use Corrupting Potion, you can out-trade them even inside of their own minions.

Generally, this has one of several results:

You kill them
They have to recall and use teleport (missing experience)
They have to use their potions to stay in lane

This works especially well with Attack Speed Quints since it lets you proc your passive more quickly.

Most people go Courage of the Colossus for the shield, I personally like Grasp of the Undying; you build a lot of health as Darius, and he likes extended trades, which Grasp encourages, and most of the stats that mastery tree gives are really good on Darius. Fervor of Battle is known for being pretty weak, i'd recommend against it.

As for the Poppy matchup, i haven't played it personally, but i have seen very good top laners play it. One thing to bear in mind is that Poppy will have access to 2 shields; from the buckler passive, and from courage of the Colossus. She'll want to trade with you while those shields are active; try to hit her back when those shields are down, and avoid walls so she can't stun you against them. I'd recommend starting Dorans Shield to mitigate the harrass from her passive ranged auto, then go corrupting potion->boots->black cleaver. Also, try to deny her buckler shield by stepping on it whenever you can do so safely. In an extended trade, Darius should win, especially if you can avoid the second proc of damage from her Q.

Poppy is easy, if youre getting rekt by her I cant help you there, you just need to learn on your own.

Stormraiders is ok, but CoC and Fervor are way better. I personally run fervor all the time because now that it gives flat bonus AD instead of on hit it empowers everything in my kit, EVERYTHING.

For starting build you want either d blade or long sword refillable in easy matchups or d shield in hard matchups. MAYBE you can get corrupting potion in poke heavy matchups, but I personally hate it because it makes darius squishy to all ins or burst trades in general.

but here is how i play him: -fervor combined with attack speed runes -stormraider is trash in my opinion -start doran balde against melees, cloth armor against champs like quinn

poppy is fought like any other melees

I actually run AD/scaling health/scaling MR/armor quint, I like to make up for the HP lost from item nerfs. Attack speed red is probably better for fervor
