Why can't Anivia do double damage on dragon or baron with her E, if Ashe can crit them?

BakedLotion··21 votes·5,282 views

Since Ashe does crit damage to people affected by her slow debuff, why do debuff immune monsters like Dragon and Baron get critted by Ashe if they're not debuffed? Anivia can't do this, so why should Ashe?

We should probably make her able to.

The same way Yasuo's ult can work with any knockup, would it be possible to align all Freljord champion slows so that their effects work with one another?

As an example, Anivia's E would do double damage to an Ashe-slowed target, and Ashe would deal a first-hit crit on a Sejuani slowed target. Sejuani could E anyone that's been hit by Ashe's or Lissandra's slows.

Basically all 'frost' slow effects would be unified. Whether to include Iceborn Gauntlet and Frozen Mallet in there would be arguable.

Anivia's slows are called Chilled, not frost :P

Exactly my point, i'm asking for all the 'cold/frost/chill' slows to work together when Freljord champs are concerned. It would be an indirect and situational buff to pretty much Anivia, Sejuani, Ashe, Braum, Nunu and Lissandra, with maybe Trundle, Olaf and Volibear too. These guys don't use 'cold' to slow people though so maybe i wouldn't make it work.

Volibear and Tryndamere use a fear, Trundle's Pillar of Ice could work, and Olaf just throws axes, but these 4 all benefit from building either Frozen Mallet and/or Iceborn Gauntlet to some extent.

Trynd doesn't have a fear, and Voli's fear only works on minions. Yes, you could classify Voli's slow as someone afraid of the big powerful roar coming from a giant polar bear, and Trynd's slow as a humiliating mock as to why you're running away from him. But, they are not actually fears in a mechanical sense.

Sorry, just wanted to clear that up.

Good point, and thanks to you. I'm no specialist of those champions.

When I first started work on Ashe early this year, this was actually part of my personal plan. I thought it would be pretty cool if all the champions with chilled / frost effects combo'd off each other. If I ever get a chance to put some time into it, I'd still like to go back to it.

I say just mention that to live design whenever there is another Freljord event as just a mini extra thing to change to go along with the event.

i don' t like that a champ can sinergize better with a restricted class of champions. I mean, at least for yasuo there are many knockups. But if iceborn gauntlet, Fros Queen Claim, Rilay and Frozen Mallet allow that chill slow, then i think it can be good.

I don't remember where but I'm pretty sure a Rioter said that they specifically made the choice not to allow Anivia's E damage work with other frost slows. Something about too much synergy IIRC.

Is there a reason Ashe was nerfed so hard? I get that she was too strong at killing towers. That nerf made sense. I get that she had too much damage, so the volley nerf made sense. I get that getting 5 stacks of Q with one volley was too strong, so addressing it in some way made sense. But now it's a little too frustrating to get 5 stacks on her Q while every stack falls off after 5 seconds. Yet more it also kept its 18 second CD at all ranks. It's powerful when you can unlock the fully stacked ability, but it's hard to unlock and underwhelming until then. It needs a little bit of a buff IMO to make it easier obtain the 5 stacks more often, make <5 stack activations more rewarding, or give some power while stacking it.

Can we bribe other Rioters to push this idea forward?

Do you think it would be possible to buff her wall? I had an idea awhile ago that people liked where characters who "cheated" her terrain by a fat man dimension phasing belly tackle or a pair of vault smashing fists would be slowed by a Chilled debuff. This wouldn't apply to Nocturne/Malph/Rek ults, nor flashes. Just for champions who can cross over that wall and actually phase through it.

Then she can E the once who escape for double damage.

please do, objective control is after all supposed to be one of anivia's strengths

That change alone would help bring her back into relevance.

Do you have any intention to follow-up on the thread where you said you would be willing to discuss the state of Teemo?

(It's been over 2 weeks, now)

Why can't teemo mushrooms detonate on baron anymore? I know it's been like this for a while but all these little things constantly done to teemo add up.

Because Anivia is old.

I think Dragon and Baron are only immune to debuffs that affects them. Ashes MS slow is ok, Anivias AS slow not.

Anivia has a slow on her q if she doesnt pop it on their face

Just a theory. Maybe the entire chilled debuff is blacklisted because it CAN slow AS

So fucking unfair. Seriously Riot needs to standardize these types of things. Either make it work on both of them, or remove it from Ashe. I'd suggest make it work for both.

Why does Anivia get to burst you while having only RoA and Tear?

That has nothing to do with the thread, and don't complain about Anivia when a fizz can build 6 dorans and instantly burst you. RoA only gives like 60 AP assuming u just bought it or else u wont have tear only, so theres no way shes doing more than 40% of your hp with ult and e lmao

Get the fuck out of the thread if you have no valuable or relevant input to include. Thank you.

BlkGolem1 votes

She had better not do more than 40% just for clipping you with her ult... Also I really don't advocate Fizz just because I find Anivia's e annoying. Also, sorry for not being relevant but it would greatly increase your standing to speak a little more civilly. Thanks anyway though.

Ratbert1 votes

Technically, getting clipped by nearly any ult gets you hit by the full effect, so there really is no reason anivia can't spend ~195 mana to deal 400 damage.

It would bolster your argument to prove your claim with facts and not simply state a claim as if it were fact.

Krys Star1 votes

Maybe because Blasting Wand, which builds into RoA, gives 50 AP, and once built into RoA, gives 60 AP. So there's 60 AP right off the bat, on top of the fact that her E is intended to burst to begin with. So.... Your question is invalid.

BlkGolem1 votes

Right off the bat 10 minutes after buying roa technically, but yeah pretty much the same thing in terms of ap. However, I think it's just an absurd amount of free target damage just for hitting her other abilities, one of which is a giant circle that's pretty darn hard to miss. It would make more sense for it to take just a small amount of time being affected by her abilities so that she can't just e and then ult and still get tons of damage off. Then there's the q double proc but i'm fine with that really, mostly the e just annoys me.
