LP Threshold System?

Hey Riot,

I'm sure im not alone on this. Many of us have felt the frustration of playing a ranked game, and then earning 1-2 less IP to qualify for a series. I really don't see how that is fair. Especially since the amount of IP you gain is arbitrarily assigned (Not dependent on other team) so why can't your system adjust to compensate for that? Instead of having to play an extra game, to GET INTO a promotion series.

I wouldn't even mind a compensation system. If the system boost you into a series by adding 5 LP, your next win after the series you earn 5 less LP. Another solution is that LP carries over, so that if you were supposed to earn 20 LP but you only needed 2 LP, then when your series is over you gain that remainder 18 LP whether you win or lose.

RANKED SHOULDN'T BE THIS FRUSTRATING =)

I don't know whether it would be a good idea or not, but I'm at 97 LP right now so I do currently find it annoying :D

I think you should just go over 100LP. If you end up at say 115LP, then if you lose your series your LP loss goes from 115 and so you're probably quite high still (possibly immediately in another series if it was close). If you win the series, I'm not sure if you should get the 15LP credit... Not that I'm against it just that I'm uncertain whether you earned the LP in that case (doesn't matter how much extra you earned, you always start the new level at 0), but I definitely think if you lose the series you had already gained that LP.

The problem is that if you say "okay, you're at 99LP, we'll just kick you into a series now", then someone will hit 98LP and make a thread whining about that.

And then if they say "okay, okay, we'll bump you up to 100 from 98LP too", someone will hit 97LP and then make a thread whining about that...

They have to draw the line somewhere.
