Quoting Riot August, the lead designer of Jinx

From r/leagueofjinx

Full changelist:

P - Get Excited -AS no longer stacks -Jinx's AS uncaps while excited

Q - Switcheroo

-Minigun AS/character lvl:: 0-70% >>> removed -Minigun AS/Rank:: 30-70% >>> 30-130% -Jinx's first attack after switching from rockets to minigun comes out within .4 seconds of swapping (instead of waiting for her full attack timer) -Updated Rocket attack animations to feel snappier.

Context:

“Goal is to make her spike earlier should she manage to get a lead in lane. Ideally, it'll still be difficult to get that lead, but should be far more rewarding when you do (say goodbye to your towers).

At same time reducing her snowball in sloppy teamfights by removing the stacking portion of the passive.

Also, switching from rockets to minigun should feel much smoother (and be objectively more powerful) with the partial reset we're trying. (Ashe Q and Vi E already have this).

No guarantee these ship, even if they do they may need to be accompanied by nerfs in other places. The hope is that we can buff her in a way that creates situations where she is an obvious good pick (Tower taking/objective snowball) while not making her completely busted in terms of winrate”

Jinxylord has to admit that jinx was a mistake

"creates situations where she is an obvious good pick(tower taking)"

she is a good pick in every situations there isn't a single situation where you should pick an other adc instead of jinx

jinx brings tower taking cc poke long range damage AOE damage global presence with execute

why would you even bother picking an other adc when a single steroid brings 130% attack speed, or 700 range 110% AD AOE CRIT

one does not simply think he can revert a nerf that lowered the win rate of a champion from 53% to 49% and follow it with a passive buff

Jinxylord will never admit that jinx was a mistake

this is rito games a small indie company that loves its adc class.

I think everyone forgot season 5 where you'd see a jinx every game in the bot lane, or even seeason 6 when she remained popular in most metas (except for the lethality bot lane meta).

Her Q steroids are both just so ridiculous and offer way too much power in opposite scenarios that her getting buffs is just stupid.

Not to mention her whole theme is beyond irritating, I'd rather not her kit be as well.

Hello good sir,

I think you forgot the point that she has no mobility if she does not get excited, her main abilities are impossible to hit if your opponent has a mouse and is able to use more than half of his brain. - (Her E takes 0.75 secs to triggers which is like Eternity, and her Zap can't hit if the enemy is not CC or in a choke point, although they are not really that much important to hit. This makes a character with pretty much 2 spells in his kit: her Q to switch weapons and her ultimate to KS - Kill Secure.) That being said you are supposed to have a support able to CC your opponent and then follow up with your spells on him, but the thing is : as a champion alone Jinx won't do much. Not to mention that at the moment any of the meta AD have a better early-mid game than her (Except early Vayne cuz, it's Vayne.). That being said, she will definitely be on a good spot post-buff and will be able to be dominant in lane. (ATM her laning is pure crap - although Targon overheal combo gives her a bit of breathing room.)

Jinx is not a good pick in every situation, due to her low mobility she is very weak to any assassins or bruisers (Like Riven or Wukong), any other AD with mobility (Aka Tristana, Vayne, Lucian even though he is in a pretty rough spot at the moment etc...) is a thousand times better than her to deal with them in midgame. We can argue that you should just wait until the assassins/bruisers blow their CD to commit to a fight, but sometimes you just can't and every game is different so it's whatever. The point is just that Jinx is much better at dealing with tanks than dealing with assassins, and picking Tristana against a Zed or a Talon will ALWAYS be a better way to deal with them than picking Jinx.

About AOE crits, it is what makes Jinx Jinx, it's her identity as a champion (along with her passive Get Excited), as much as Caitlyn revolves around headshots and traps, Tristana is a jumping machine and Vayne can three-shot anything past 30 minutes.

But, I have to agree with you that the buff she's getting on the attack speed steroid will give her too much power at all stage of the game, but in my opinion, she needs something to be a thing, Jinx feels so bad ATM.

One thing with the buffs here....What's the point of Lethal Tempo if she just breaks the atk spd. cap. now anyway? Right now she can run it to be a huge presence in 5v5s, but I doubt any Jinx will want to run it after the changes to her passive.

Riot might as well remove Lethal Tempo from the game at this point since the only real champ that wants it is Jinx.
