Make Pulsefire Ezreal worth it.

I am going to compare him to Spirit Guard Udyr.

Spirit Guard Udyr

-4 Jokes -9 Different appearences -4 Taunts -5 Different Dances -4 Different animations when killing a unit(the colored smoke) -4 Different Walk Cycles -4 Summoner Icons -4 Recalls -4 Different attack animations

Pulsefire Ezreal

-1 Summoner Icon -Q Looks different -W Is recolored -E is a little different -R is a recolor -4 Models -Different Joke -Different Taunt -His dance is pretty much his old dance except it is a projection -Animation when target is killed -New recall

Now, know doubt Udyr has some more stuff because the whole 4 stance thing, but that is still a ton. Ezreal just gets recolors for some of his abilities. Since Ezreal's main thing for this skin is evolution, make his abilities, jokes, taunts, dance and recalls change as he evolves. Add different and more powerful sounds as he evolves. Give him quotes in different stages of his evolution.

Here are my concepts for making him better.

Passive

The cannon barrel glows brighter the more stacks he has.

Q Stage 1- His current Q Stage 2- His current Q with a blue ring around it. Makes a clack sound when fired Stage 3- His current Q with 2 blue rings around it and a shorter tail. Makes a heavier clack sound. He holds his cannon and recoils it into the air after shooting it Stage 4- His current Q with 3 blue rings around it and a shorter tail. The projectile flickers. He holds his cannon but tanks the recoil into his shoulder

W Stage 1- His current W Stage 2- His current W with the some of the little blue particles dropping out behind the projectile Stage 3- His current W but a little more dense looking Stage 4- His W is now a small crescent. Like his ultimate but just smaller

E Stage 1- Current E Stage 2- Current E with more particles Stage 3- Leaves an after image (But it is obvious that is isn't him actually standing there) Stage 4- Jumps through a portal and jumps out of one. Makes a smug comment like "Too slow!" or "Hah-Ha!"

R

Stage 1- Current ultimate "Full power!" "Here it comes!" Stage 2- Crescent is a little more sharp(still rounded) and the tail is longer "Take this!" "Time for a light show!" Stage 3- Shoots a blast akin to the Kamehameha Wave "Goodbye!" "Try and block it!" "Unlimited power!"

Taunts

Stage 1- Extends cannon out "I always wanted a Guinea Pig!" "How about a demonstration?" Stage 2- Casual stance, shakes head "Still living in the past huh?" "This'll be easy.." Stage 3- Flexes cannon arm and points other arm "Dont look directly at the blast!" "How about a lightshow?" Stage 4- Shoots a beam like a flare upward "Now this __ Is superior firepower!" "Be a witness __ To perfection!" To Yi- "I hope those aren't nightvision goggles" To Jayce- "I am the defender of the day after tommorow!" To Jinx "Ballistic weaponry? HA!"

Jokes

Stage 1- Old jokes Stage 2- Old taunts Stage 3- Makes a beam come out of the cannon like a light sabre "I, am your father! Ahaha, just kidding!" "Haha, welcome to the pulsefire age!" Stage 4- Looks his suit over "Chicks dig the suit...Right?" "Gah! Scratches!? Dirt!? Where!?"

Dance

Stage 1- One tone beat(music) Stage 2- Two beats(music) Stage 3- Three beats(music) Stage 4- Four beats(music)

Laugh Stage 1-3 standard laugh Stage 4- Snicker

Recall

Stage 1- Normal Stage 2- Blue rings consistantly appear Stage 3- Hovers off the ground, then ascends into the sky "Time to go." "I'll take the high road!" Stage 4- Kneels on the ground before blasting off into the sky at an extreme speed "I'll be back" "Time to break the sound barrier!"

Killing an enemy champion Stage 1-4- "Easy come, easy go!" "That sure brightened up their day!" "Lights out!"

Summoner Icon

Why not make it have a glow animation?

Riot put alot of hard work into making Nidalee Master Yi, Garen, Trundle, Nasus, Sion, and Tristana look really slick and modern, and all that was for free.

SGU is 9 skins in one , artwork wise, he has four basic transformations + the starting udyr + 4 ultimate transformations (when the ability is maxed on skill points)

Most of these threads are coming from salty people who bought Pulzefire Ez when it was released and are unhappy with how NEWER skins are better. Well no shit, Riot has up'ed their quality on skins every year. This shit is subjective. Would you rather have had Riot keep their quality level the same as PFE for SGU and DJ Sona?

You paid for that skin when it was $30. "Make PFE worth it"? He was worth it apparently if you bought it at that price.

I bought pulsefire Ezreal a long time after it was released. I think it is better than all of his skins. But once they made another skin of the same price, the new skin completely blew it out of the water.

Its like looking at Nunu Bot and comparing it to Infernal Nasus. And then telling me that Nunu Bot doesn't need to be updated.

You may not like his tone, but can you disagree with his logic? MAYBE Riot should update PFE, but the price was worth it at the time and there are so many other visual updates that are more important (like Morde's pizza feet). Also, Riot has been pretty clear that they only allow a certain amount of time to put out a skin at X price point.

Everything you purchase in the game is subject to getting outdated, thinking otherwise is just simply unreasonable. If things didn't get outdated, the game would never improve. But, the flipside of this is that everything will be eventually updated. If you feel like a skin isn't worth it, just don't buy it. Wait for it to get updated or ignore it, whatever. Don't demand Riot go back and endlessly polish everything as soon as the next thing looks slightly better.

The way I see it,Riot could:

  1. Update the skin to fit the standard set by SGU & DJS.While in no dire need (at least compared to those who are),Ez could benefit from a model update (Alistar,Maokai level).This would be the perfect chance to update PFE as far visuals (model,animation,particles etc) are concerned. or
  2. Lower the price on the skin.

I don't understand.

It is worth it because people paid the price for it.

At the end of the day it's just pixels. If you paid x price for pixels then you are saying you feel that price point is worth it. Riot isn't going to upgrade all older skins because better new ones come out. They've never done it before, and they certainly shouldn't start with PFE when significantly worse skins at their price points exist.

I'm glad you posted this. I just bought Spirit Guard Udyr, and then I heard there was this super nice Pulsefire Ezreal too. Now that I see your comparison, I realize I would be disappointed. I think that probably points out the best reason to update this skin... while a lot of the comments seem to be from players who have been here for years, new people like me are showing up all the time. It's nice that something looked best in 2012, but I started two weeks ago. My wallet and I are only in 2015. We buy things from here.

(I just went and watched the youtube spotlight for Pulsefire Ez, and I gotta say, I would never have guessed it was supposed to be a 3250 skin. It doesn't look any better than Infernal Nasus or Hazmat Heimer or Battlecast Vel'koz, all of which cost me a lot less than 3250rp. When I watched the same kind of spotlight video before buying Udyr, who I hadn't even played at the time, I was like OMG THAT IS ONLY 3250RP? TAKE MY MONEY! They really do need to update Pulsefire, or demote the skin to the correct tier.)

They should just re-price him to be a 1820 RP legendary skin. As the game evolves, old stuff gets outdated, that's natural and it's not even possible to keep everything updated forever, so they should just lower the price of older skins and so. They must accept that Pulsefire Ezreal isn't really comparable to DJ Sona and it's more comparable to new legendary skins and re-price it so. As, for example, Gentleman Cho should cost 1350 or even 975.

Actually SGU is glitched and only plays his bear stance quotes. Also, once you get rank 5 turtle stance it makes the turtle shield sound effect every time you switch to ANY stance. Annoying as fuck, Riot plz fix.

This is a truly amazing idea, it seems very well thought out. I would buy Pulsefire Ezreal in a heartbeat if he said some of the things listed above.

You do have to realize, though, that the Ezreal skin is older than Udyr's. Something I read earlier while looking for DJ Sona information described ultimate skins as "Their best work from that year", so if it's 2 years old, of course it's not going to be as good as Udyr who is only a year old, or Sona who is brand new.

True, but you have to agree that as older skins become outdated they should get lower in price to reflect their current standing against newer better skins. As consequence said skin will more than likely see a rise in sales due to it's lower price. But that's just me.

Agreed. At this point, PFE would pass as a high-end legendary skin, but it certainly would not still be an ultimate tier, so they should at least reduce the price to split the difference at 2550 RP. Still expensive, but appropriately so.

Riot's policies on pricing need an update more than PFE. The prices don't reflect demand, you have to go to outside websites to get a look at the skins you are purchasing, purchasing methods affect the amount of RP per dollar spent etc. The whole thing has the air of a scam.

Skins are optenal they are not required for play they are not scamming you,you chose to buy that skin knowing full well that the game evolves changes and gets more advanced over time.

TLDR: Riot is not scamming you because their art team gets better at their craft every year,shut up.

A scam does not imply coercion. People you buy your penis pumps from don't hold a gun to your head. My criticism is aimed at the lack of transparency, undisclosed information regarding the product and an arbitrary price structure. Incidentally, the art team does not deal in e-commerce, I have nothing against them whatsoever. So you might want to consider some reading lessons at your nearest community college and chill out.

well you have to understand the time frame the skins came out. Pulsefire Ezreal came out like 4 years ago. Spirit Guard Udyr a year and a half ago.

you really want to pich a fit look at firecracker jinx. 15 dollars for just a model change and firework explosions on her rockets. heck even her ulti rocket is just a recolored form of her base model rocket.

her mafia skin offers more for less price

  1. Buy Firecracker jinx
  2. do all base model jinx's taunts/jokes/laugh/dance
  3. use freshly bought firecracker jinx skin and do all taunt/jokes/laugh/dance
  4. see that live is different than PBR.
  5. kick yourself for trolling

I think the difference was that Udyr is a very dynamic champion in terms of his kit, Ezreal not soo much. That's what I believe that was Riot's intention behind the Udyr and Ezreal $25 skins.

I fully agree that Pulsefire Ezreal needs to be updated but there are a few things you're misleading on. Udyrs jokes and taunts have been bugged for months so only the bear stance audio plays regardless of what stance you're in (I understand that if this were working it wouldn't be on my list). The recalls and dances are just using the different animal spirit models, not entirely new animations.

Also, much of the reason SGU has so many animations/audio/effects is because he has the 4 stance mechanic that his character is built around. It would be very hard to find areas to add those extra things. I agree with most of your suggestions but adding ALL of those would mean more animations/visual changes and voicework than any skin I'm aware of.

I payed my friend to buy me PFE Ezreal a few weeks ago... $25 down the drain. I know it's my fault, but why do they have an outdated skin the same price as newer, better skins? It's like selling a 1990 car for $5000, then making a 2000 car ten years later and having them both at $5000. I made a noob mistake. RIP $25! The skin is so bad a chunky that I'm forced to use the default skin if I want to play with ease. PFE is the hard mode of Ezreal.
