Why i will NEVER main support while im in low elo and why autofill is a bullshit

It just doesnt work. You will win bot, but jungler wont gank nobody, he will farm 24/7 and still he will have 20 minions in 16 minutes. Top will feed out of control. leaving us with a fed tank that can 100-0 all of us. Autofill sucks. Personally, i see no reason for autofill to be enabled in tiers below Platinum. It's not like only a few percent players are in low elo. It's more than 60% Riot. Listen to your player base ONCE. Everybody bitched on these forums how autofill makes no sense, and still there it is. Autofilling Top laner/jungler as a support doesnt work. It will never work. It is a bullshit.. If i wanted to play support, i'd pick support as my primary role. You dont have to force me to play what i dont want to. I can support my adc because i used to main support a long time ago, so i have a little bit of clue what should i do. How would a new bronze/silver player have an idea what he should do. I've seen a lot of autofilled supports farming and doing the same things they would do on solo lane.. It does not work. Also, there are kids who are trying to make us dodge with their "i will troll" "i will feed" etc. comments. I get autofilled once-twice in a day, it's not a big deal, but speaking as a silver player; how do you expect anybody to be happy with autofill from lower elo ? We're working SO FUCKING HARD to earn our poor 20 LP so we can MAYBE just MAYBE climb out of these stupid tiers, and then we just see "Your role: SUPPORT". Of course, nobody will swap with you because they want to show their Yasuo/Zed/Vayne skills because they deserve atleast master but crappy teammates are holding them back. I just feel like autofill is there to force someone to play failed mage reworks as supports so they dont have 0% playrate.. It's discusting, and clearly it gives you support intentionally.

TLDR; Autofill has no reason to exist in ELOs lower than platinum. Dealing with a 5 minute queue is ok. Disabling autofill would save A LOT of bot lanes, would prevent so much trolling, would prevent so much fucked mothers, and generally players would have a little bit better xperience.

But, of course, disabling autofill won't happen. So make that poor SUPPORT role more interesting. Watching my adc missing whole minion wave and getting hit by every cc and watching my top lane Yasuo feeding the shit out of Darius ain't so satisfying. A lot of us would agee. Also, knowing that u cant do a jack shit, but watch their plays and cry beats you even more. That's just it. Basically, support in lower elo soloq means "adc's bitch".. You're nothing but a 5th player who is there just to ward and try to fix their fatal mistakes.

Listen to your player base ONCE

They did it for a Skarner update. It was the most awfull OP update ever. I'm really glad they do not listen to the player base.

Because else noone plays support. What happens when you lack a role and there is not autofill :

  • 1000 players starts to queue for a game, there are only 100 supports.

  • 500 of the players find a match thanks to the 100 support.

  • 500 players are still waiting.

  • 1000 new players starts to queue they bring 100 new supports

  • you now have a total of 1500 players queuing (the 500 who were waiting + the 1000 new).

  • the 500 who were waiting are priorized and get matched with the 100 new supports.

  • 1000 players are still waiting

  • 1000 new players starts ... ...

  • 1500 waiting ...

But now the 1500 waiting will have to wait until 3000 new players bring 300 new support to get matched. These 3000 new players will be waiting for 6000 new players to connect to bring 600 supports ....

Repeat until 10 000 players are waiting with 1h+ queue time.

Picking role before the game was a new feature, before that you had to respect pick order, everytime. So the system is better than before, and it NEEDS autofill, else it's not just the queue time will be longer, it's the queue time will GROW so much you wont even be able to play.

You don't even need to main support, just be able to play it competently.

I'm a support main, and if you really think you're useless in low elo as a support, then you're playing the wrong supports. Play supports who can roam and gank well. Early game yes, you're at your ADC's mercy, but mid and late game you should be playing more like a seconds jungler who doesn't farm camps and wards everywhere. If you can save losing lanes or start snowballs for lanes that are about even then you'll be doing quite well. I personally like to use TahmKench for this, because even if your team is incompetent your W can help them a lot and his ult is ridiculously OP.
